My family of four had drinks and dinner at Basi, a small restaurant on a side street near downtown Columbus. We didn't have reservations and the restaurant was full. We sat at their small bar for drinks and dinner. All the employees were super friendly and knowable about the food and drinks. We all had a Black Walnut Manhattan--incredible! Twof... More

Although not exactly “authentic Italian” as the name may hint, Basi offers a tasty interpretation of simple Italian food with an infusion of elegance and creativity. The restaurant is small and you often dine elbow to elbow with other patrons (reservation is a must), but overall it has a quaint atmosphere perfect for a date or a dinner before a... More

Small but great food. It can get a little noisy; but, hey … everyone is having fun and enjoying great cuisine.

As previous review stated, Basi Italia is definitely cozy. But we went at 9pm (an hour before closing) and were delighted. There were only a few of us in the restaurant, and a few more outside at the bar. Our service was quick and friendly, as was the delivery of the food. We ordered 3 appetizers and all were really... Went to Basi Italia with friends before a show. We were fortunate to be able to sit outside and enjoy the ambience. We all enjoyed our salads and entrees, and the service was prompt and attentive. We all plan to go back soon before the cold weather sets in!

I will first give the quick readers the synopsis. My experience seems to be in line with many other reviews. Parking is easy with valet. We felt the place is not "intimate"; it is cramped. It would greatly benefit from fewer tables. The patio is very charming, best enjoyed during warmer months. The food is hit and miss. Menu should be... More

I went to Basi with my boyfriend, and it was a very romantic setting. I did not get a chance to use the outdoor seating, but inside was very small and intimate. Our service was incredibly fast, and our waiter friendly and chatted to us for a little bit after we had ordered drinks. I would definitely go back, as... More

The patio is very pleasant. The restaurant seems cramped and I'm not sure how comfortable it would be. But, outside is amazing. Food is exceptional. Service was warm and friendly. And, pricing was reasonable. My first visit. I will definitely be back!

Lovely restaurant hidden away in a residential area filled with charming restored victorian homes. Party of 5 seated on the patio. The service was attentive and friendly. Some of us have dietary restrictions and the waitstaff was very pleasant and accomodating. The specials included several fun summer time cocktails, we sampled several and each was prettily presented and very tasty.... More
