I recently dined at Kihachi with two of my Japanese business friends. Having eaten Japanese food for over 25 years, I have to say that this was some of the best I have ever eaten. My friends agreed. We had a nice relaxed dinner, with numerous appetizers. Everything was simply delicious, beautifully presented, and extremely fresh. I loved the fried... More

We have been here three times. All visits have been wonderful. The food is delicious and the presentation is astounding. Try to sit at the counter and watch the chefs prepare the food. It is remarkable craftsmanship. We enjoy the duck soba, fried lotus root, pressed mackerel and sea bream, and other daily specials. Mochi desserts are also a must.... More

Kihachi is amazingly authentic Japanese restaurant. “Zouzui” is a kind of porridge. I ordered Zousui with Oyster. It came with large oysters. It was very tasty and filling. Port Cutlet is western food developed by Japanese. I also ordered tuna with sticky potato. Private rooms are available.

First off I have to say I'm slightly embarrassed to say that this was truly some of the best Japanese/sushi I've ever had. Take this as you wish, this is coming from someone who truly enjoys the art and has eaten at some the the best in the world. I am also not fond of giving 5 stars to a... More

I simply do not understand the negative reviews of this restaurant. Oh, yeah, maybe I do actually. They are written by typical impatient Americans who don't understand cultures beyond their own. I digress. The food is, in a word, exceptional, both in flavor and presentation. Yes, this is the same Kihachi that Anthony Bordain visited in one of his No... More

Have you ever been to a restaurant and you wondered why they want to be in the business of customer service? At this establishment they barely acknowledge you. We had to ask to place our order, ask what things were on the menu (everything is in Japanese with only a one or two word translation and no description whatsoever), ask... More

I've worked for a Japanese company for 5 years and having traveled to Japan dozens of time on business this place is far from authentic. No they arent the typical Japanese restaurant but the food is okay the problem is the service is bad. I was given an attitude many times by the old lady working there and a younger... More

We made reservations for two at Kihachi about two weeks in advance. The gentleman that took the reservation was very pleasant and quickly pointed out that Kihachi is neither a sushi bar nor steakhouse. I said that we expected neither and he was glad we knew what to expect from the experience. He offered a table or counter seats. I... More

Usually one of the highest compliments that can be paid to a Japanese restaurant in the US is that it is "authentic" ... a pearl hidden amongst the Americanized hibachi, sushi, and "fusion" squalor that is all too common to the U.S. food scene. Kihachi does one better. Not only is it authentic, it's simply outstanding food sure to delight... More
