Complete awesomeness

Yum! Other than cramped dining room (which was ok cause that meant we didn't have to wait as long) it was completely and amazingly awesome. Took my PA family and they can't stop talking about it.

If you have not eaten at Schmidt's you must go! Once you do, you will know exactly what I mean. It's wonderful. It is an experience. The food is always great, the atmosphere is genuine. It gets busy but all the best places are. Never leave if there is a wait. It is always worth it. The servers are friendly.... More

Went for a family celebration upstairs in the party room. Food was buffet style. Sausage, kraut and potato salad very good and the cream puffs simply outstanding.

Get there early because there is always a wait. We arrived at 12 on a Saturday and waited a few minutes. I highly recommend the buffet. It offers 4 or 5 different brats, mashed potatoes, cabbage, pasta in bbq sauce and brats(incredible), fried chicken(ok) rolls soup and salad. Great deal for $15. They have great German beer and very good... More

The best sausage and sauerkraut I have ever had! We started with the pretzel nuggets that came with a sweet faintly "mustardy" dipping sauce. Honestly, the pretzels were so yummy I barely used the dipping sauce. Oh, the German Potato Salad served along with my entrée...OMG! I was stuffed and could not stop eating! I tried the old world sausage... More

This place is absolutely the best. Yum yum yum. So delicious. The sauerbraten is the best I've ever had. The buffet has a large variety of sausage, soup, salads, stews, etc. There is something for everyone. The price is right. You will not be disappointed. Don't miss this place. Soooooooo good

This is the only place I know of in Columbus to get traditional German fare. The food has always been good (I love the sauerbraten), and the desserts are rich and generous. It's a nice place to take visiting friends. It's in the heart of German Village, an area of Columbus that is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Fantastic food. Fantastic atmosphere. Be prepared to wait - it's QUITE popular! If you would like to have a large group, book the party room! We do for many family events. I have enjoyed Schmidt's for years, and since being diagnosed with celiac disease have still been able to enjoy it. (Not a huge gluten free selection but I can... More

Went to Schmidt's to celebrate my sisters birthday. Schmidt's is located in German Village, and is known around Columbus, Ohio for their great tasting Bratwursts! Plus, they have the best Cream Puffs I have ever tasted. Schmidt's is in a historical place in German Village. The streets are lined with bricks. The food is reasonable priced, and very tasty. They... More
