What can you say about this place other than extremely good. Where else can go & enjoy great German sausages & sides on a buffet called The Autobahn. Nowhere but here. Had 4 different sausages on it plus a sausage stew that was so good. The warm potato salad & red cabbage had me going back 3 times. But somehow... More

I came here on a week night for my birthday, always wanted to try their food after living in Columbus, OH for 29 years and man was it worth it! The parking and the wait for a table is worth the cuisine and the atmosphere. Server was great and a lot of fun. The buffet is easily the way to... More

The place was packed (yes, it is very popular), but the food and service were first rate. The Bahama Mamas are still delicious, just as they were when we started going there in 1975. Don't pass on dessert; the cream puffs are highly recommended, and I love their banana cream pie. Worth the time it takes to get there.

We stopped here to eat lunch on our way to Pittsburgh, PA. We love German food, and enjoyed the quaint village this restaurant is in. We had the buffet, the food was excellent, but the cream puffs are to die for! They are bigger than a softball and most delicious! We had both the chocolate and vanilla, they were out... More

Eaten at Schmidt's many times and usually get a brat with kraut and German potato salad if getting a meal. They make their own sausages and they're pretty top notch. At one time we rarely left Columbus without stopping off for coffee and a cream puff at Schmidt's.

Heavy on the vinegar. Their Bahamas Mama sausage got rave reviews from my daughter and I thought the sauerbraten and gravy were excellent. Our waitress had quite the attitude though.

We arrived at 4:00 and thought we would not have to wait but there were people waiting all over the place. My bf went inside to put our name on the list while I searched for a parking space. It's very limited parking in the lot and area so come early. We found seats at the bar and had Bud... More

Not a 2nd trip for this hunky. The owners really need to re-think their presentation and stop resting on laurels. The apple strudel was not really strudel at all. They had the gall to charge heavily for a meager plate of dry and poorly presented spaetzle (heck, they should come on the buffet and otherwise should come with every entree).... More

My family and I loved the buffet of German foods. We were driving through Columbus and my husband suggested going there. My daughter and I have never been there. Good suggestion!

Schmidt's is a family / tourist friendly locale. The sausages and oompa band lend to its charm. Food is good, not great and reasonably priced. Get a "cream puff". They are out of this world.
