One of the top three restaurants we have eaten at in the USA. I commend the owner and his staff for a very enjoyable evening. Thank you
I applaud the comments from owner even though he was much kinder than I would have been. It is sad to hear ANYONE would have had a bad experience with the staff or the quality of the dishes served. Hands down, this is the BEST of the best restaurants in central Ohio. Most French restaurants serve small portions. Any good... More
For a special occasion, no restaurant in Columbus is better than this one! Food, service, wine, and ambiance are unmatched in town. For New Years Eve, a five course dinner and accompanying wines was the perfect way to celebrate the new year. For less formal occasions, the bistro and bar area are perfect, as well.
My favorite, quintessentially NYC restaurant is the Four Seasons. The Refectory offers a parallel experience, with impeccable service, haute cuisine, and extensive wine offerings - all at about ⅓ the NYC price. A variety of rooms offer different experiences, but the main dining room is one of the most romantic venues in town.
Great service, food, atmosphere and a very professional and knowledgable staff. There were four of us and we all loved everything we had. They also have a very extensive wine list!
Over 700 wines on the wine list! The atmosphere was perfect. We were seated in an area that felt as though we were alone. Acoustics are very quiet. The menu is very interesting, and we chose entrees that were more unique than available at many places. The meal was prepared perfectly to meet each of our wishes. We will definitely... More
My wife and I often pass through Columbus on our way to points west, and have been stopping at The Refectory for many years. This stop was on a Wednesday evening, and we had a very comfortable meal. I had a perfect duck breast, and my wife had a baby rack of lamb that was great. But her lamb also... More
I was there with a business group of about 40 people for a luncheon meeting. We were seated in the Upstairs Choir Room, which has a nice quiet atmosphere. The menu was of course pre-selected, and the food was simply outstanding! Since we were in a private room, we had a server assigned just to us, and he did a... More
Went for a friend's birthday celebration. Despite reservations, we were seated late and everything from then on was a wait. A wait to get the menus, a wait to get each entree, etc, wait, etc.. Overall, however, the food was nice in that classic french tarte and julienne type of way. We like to share and taste each others offerings.... More
I had eagerly read the reviews from this restaurant and was sadly disappointed when I finally went. We were there for dinner in a small group celebrating the birthday of one of our friends. It really took forever (~ 45 minutes) between the appetizers and the entrees so by the time that the entrees were served we were not hungry... More
