Wait staff was extremely professional , thorough and just the right amount of attentive. Blackened swordfish and clam crusted tilapia was very good, even excellent. The menu was long on seafood and short on non-seafood, which is probably understandable. But the restaurant just wasn't special and memorable. It is missing that "something" that makes it standout.

In Columbus for a conference and needed a break from a busy few weeks with lots of meals with business partners and friends -- my wife and I found 89 Fish & Grill a most relaxing evening alone away from the crowd. Service was great and our menu choices excellent. Happy hour helped with 1/2 price apps and wine choices... More

My husband and I decided to come here after reading several great reviews to celebrate our anniversary. We sat at the tall tables to enjoy the oyster happy hour. Our waitress Bridget was also the bartender but made sure to chat with us, made amazing suggestions for our cocktails Hefeweizen on draft for the hubs, an old fashion for me,... More

My girlfriend wanted to come here for her birthday because she loves seafood. She said her scallops were amazing. I got the chicken and also thought it was fantastic. This place has a very cool ambiance and atmosphere. The place is a little pricey but is perfect for a special occasion. Would for sure eat here again.

My husband noticed this restaurant as we were approaching the Crowne Plaza, where we were staying for the weekend for the Fleetwood Mac concert. Once we valet parked, we decided to stay parked for the evening, so we decided to try this restaurant, which was just a short walk from our hotel. We called about 6:00 p.m. and had no... More

My wife and I visited 89 Fish for the second time in two months. The service was good, the ambience is professional casual, but fun. Live entertainment from guitarist/vocalist Parker Muntz is pleasantly subdued, just enough to enjoy, but never enough to overpower even a quiet conversation. The calamari appetizer was very nice, clam chowder just so-so. The real appeal... More

Four of us visited this restaurant a few years ago and left after waiting more than 15 minutes for anyone to approach our table. At that time, I wrote a bad review, so I'm delighted to be able to say that our recent experience was totally different. The same four of us who were so disappointed on our earlier visit... More

My wife and I went for a late night dinner: an appetizer, a salad and two fish entrees, a beer and two cocktails. Total was over $110 with tax (excluding tip). This may not sound like a lot in some places but for Columbus it is at the higher end. I guess there is a premium for being near the... More

We walked across the street from the Drury Inn to an epicurean treat. Our supper of clam chowder, 89 salad, free range chicken, lump crab cakes, and amusing Pinot Grigo were great. Live music was treat.

Be prepared to spend your money. The entrees were pricey but the Tilapi with crabmeat and a sherry sauce was good. If you do not like garlic, I would not recommend this restaurant since most all of the sides were infused. I had to select a double serving of asparagus which was overcooked. On the plus side the service was... More
