As we prepared to leave Cleveland after visiting our daughter at Case Western Reserve University. I phoned ahead to Melt to order some sandwiches to take on the road with us. I was told they would be ready in 25 minutes. 25 minutes later, when I reached the restaurant I got a confused look from the cashier. It turned out... More

My husband and I have been told that we HAVE to eat here, so this was a great opportunity. Thursday late lunch, not too busy. Parking - horrible. Enough said. Soda - Flat. Both Mt. Dew and Pepsi. Food - one of the top three best fries I've ever had. I had the Winter Chicken sandwich - it was good,... More

The food was very good and big enough to have leftovers. My only complaint about this place was the seating. The tables were way too close together.

This place specializes in grilled cheese sandwiches. The sandwhich combinations that they offer are wild, and surprisingly good. Go hungry, because their portion sizes are huge. The atmosphere is cool, their prices are fair considering what you get, and the service is usually good. For something different, give this place a try. The only negative thing I have to say... More

After a long drive, we were so excited to find this place to have a late dinner. Everything was awesome - the food, the local beer, our server, the atmosphere....one of my favorite places on our cross country road trip!

We have eaten here twice, at both the Lakewood and Independence locations, and were underwhelmed. While the soup was good and sandwiches inventive, the execution was not that great. Both times the fries were soggy and greasy, I've had better grilled cheese and fries at some of our local diners.

Not only are the sandwiches delicious and enormous, the beer selection is incredible and the restaurant decor takes you back to your childhood, with crazy plastic Christmas choir boys located high up on the shelves!! The only thing they stock up on a consistent basis are the doggy-bag containers because you rarely finish your meal!!

Terrific restaurant whatever your dining needs, but especially wonderful if you have to eat GF. Creative sandwiches with GF bread, preparation precautions and knowledgeable waitstaff. Portions are huge and messy, but you'll be tempted to eat it all in one sitting, it's that good. I can't wait to return to Cleveland so I can eat there again!

Take a break from counting calories and go to Melt. The sandwiches are large, half for dinner tonight, then a take-home box for lunch tomorrow. I had the Caribbean War Pig, and I loved how the sweet and tangy flavors combined. The fries tasted great, perfectly crunchy for me. Seating at tables was a little slow, but it was dinnertime...
