Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to like Flying Fig. It has been on my list of restaurants to try for quite some time. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. Flying Fig is located in the trendy Ohio City neighborhood of Cleveland, across the street from the Great Lakes Brewing Company. We parked nearby and had reservations... More

Overpriced and fancy just to be fancy. There are a ton of great places to eat around that area so head to one of them imo. The portions were too small to even tell if it was any good. I would head to the border before heading back here.

Living in Ohio City, this place is truly a treasure. Lolita (in nearby Tremont) has a pretty outstanding Happy Hour, but Flying Fig definitely gives Lolita a run for its money. With a surprisingly extensive $5 Happy Hour menu (including pork nachos, bleu cheese burgers, tempura green beans and amazing french fries), it's hard not to fall in love with... More

Karen Small's place has been amazingly consistent over the years, not bowing to trends or gimmicks that ultimately have doomed other late Cleveland spots. Locally grown produce and raised meats as well as an efficient and excellent kitchen result in some of the best meals I have had anywhere over the years. The atmosphere is both hip and cozy, a... My 18-year-old son and I had a marvelous meal at Flying Fig on 4/27. We enjoyed the outdoor cafe seating in a charming area of Cleveland (Ohio City), knowledgeable, enthusiastic service from our waiter, and the fresh, seasonal menu with regional influences like a bright green fresh local ramps soup and yummy Ohio maple syrup-laced pain perdu. My coriander-crusted halibut... More

My wife and I had dinner for the first time at the Flying Fig on Saturday, 4/11. The service was very good, including their being able to seat us even though we arrived well before our reservation time. Much of the food was also good, including their seared scallop entree and our two salads (spinach and caesar). Especially wonderful were... More

My wife and I enjoyed a terrific dinner at the Flying Fig on Saturday evening. The service throughout the meal was top notch from our friendly and knowledgable server to the attentive associates. Our water glasses and delicious bread basket/ with olive oil were always full. The soup special was a spicy curry carrot soup with lime which was unique... More
