Nice Ohio City Lunch Spot

Had a business lunch in the area and this place worked out very well. I ordered the daily special local BLT and it was great, while my companion had a very nice looking salad. Pricing was on par with W 4th street equivalents and quality was high. Good service and nice outdoor seating. Will come... read more

Saw Flying Fig on one of Chef Symon's tv shows and decided to stop there while visiting Cleveland. We had the Ohio Burger and Brisquet Hash. Both of us just loved our meals, we ate every morsel and we're happily full the rest of the day. Quantity, service, atmosphere were all great. We just loved our meals and look forward... More

Our meal was ecstatically delicious-- simple, savoury, succulent-- and a real surprise as we were driving, 2 families with 2 kids each, through Cleveland. I keep re-living the peach salad with blue cheese and pistachios, and the incredible pairing of pickles with perfectly fried calamari. Oh, the gnocchi and rabbit on a bed of kale was comfort food at its... More

This is one of Cleveland's hot spots to dine, but I have to say a bit disappointing. Our small group visited for Sunday brunch. The highlight were the sticky buns. Fantastic. I had an omelet and it was ok. A bit salty. Fresh ingredients for the filling, but sparse. Bacon was good. Another in our group had the biscuits and... More

Crispy calamari sprinkled over a schmear of lemon aioli and garnished with fried parsley and diced pickled vegetables. Wow! Then spring lamb bolognese--tender, rich, and sophisticated comfort food--and king salmon. Everything beautifully presented with edible and delicious garnishes. Reasonable portion sizes, too. White wines served aptly cold and while we did not intend to order dessert, the berry crostada was... More

Took my mom for an overdue-summer lunch. The hostess seated us outside on the very pleasant, shaded sidewalk dining area. We split two sandwiches chicken and the turkey (the turkey was better). The waitress recommended both sandwiches on the soft, caramelized-onion focaccia bread. We were glad we accepted the tip--great sandwiches and great, relaxed setting. My only fault -- not... More

We were in town for a meeting at the Cleveland Clinic. A friend from our home town of Baltimore recommended the Flying Fig and we are very thankful started off with a perfectly made martini, a calamari appetizer and then the two bone pork chop to die for. It was a perfect evening. when back in Cleveland we will be... More

On the night we arrived in Cleveland we saw Guy F. on food Network talking about The Flying Fig in Cleveland so we searched it out and ate there and the Ohio Burger is FAB. We also met the owner, Ms. Small and she was very nice and friendly. Be sure to check this one out! And get a sticky... More

A few friends were in town and we all went to the Flying fig whilst waiting on a tour over at Great Lakes Brewing Co. We had attempted to go into another bar around the corner (shall remain nameless) but their hostesses were rude and servers ignored us... So we got up, left, came to the Fig! We were seated... More
