I'm a big fan of all things deli, especially corn beef sandwiches. I'm from down South and for some reason it is very hard to find a good deli around here. Sorry, but Jason's Deli and the like don't count. So anytime I'm up North I always seek out a good deli. The other reviews on Slyman's were good and... More

For me not much to say other than the best corned beef in Cleveland. Love it. Juicy and large sandwich! You can make 3 additional sandwiches off one. Its a deli and they get you in and out. I think they have a new location in Indepence Ohio. I have to check them out!

We reached Cleveland in the late morning of Day 6 of our Circle Lake Erie trip. The first order of business was lunch. We picked Slyman’s Deli, a Cleveland institution for the past 50+ years. We got their just before noon. We found a parking place, walked a block back to the restaurant and got in the line that extended... More

I had a hot beef with home fries and gravy just fabulous! My friend had a smurf which is great huge CB and it was fabulous! The legend lives on here, Slyman's is the best!!!! Always yummy and really tasty. I bet you can't eat it all in one sitting, but don't worry, you can take the rest home and... More

This is among the best places to be served a "corn beef" sandwich!!! It would compare favorably with the best of the NYC delis. No place offers a "bigger" or tastier one. Consistent all the time. Always packed--but in and out quickly. Not cheap though. Must share or expect to take half home! We ALWAYS plan to stop there when... More

Got together with friend I hadn't seen in many years and found this to be a good news-bad news location. We both enjoyed our sandwiches, corned beef for me and pastrami for him. Portions were huge, as expected, but the equally huge price of $13.00-no sides included-was a bit of a surprise to some of the folks there. More importantly,... More

As a native Clevelander I make it a point to go to Slyman's whenever I go home. I ordered a Reuben with mustard. It's all that I ever order. While the sandwich was enormous, the meat was kind of dry. A stark contrast to my husband's pastrami that was unbelievably greasy. I was disappointed. The staff was nice as always... More

Freddie Slyman & family have a gift. I dare you to put there corned beef up against any across the country. Chances are Slyman's will become your favorite. This is a must if you ever visit Cleveland. Freddy will personally greet you when you walk in the door as he is slicing meat. If you don't bring an appetite be... More

Classic local establishment with real community feel. Coffee and breakfast was excellent. Service was lovely. Corned beef was unbelievable!!! Reuben was huge! After finally figuring out how to bite into it, it melted in our mouths. Memorable.

Again, thanks to my fellow TA reviewers I just had to make it my business to stop at Slyman's, and yup I wasn't disappointed at all. I had for lunch what could only be described as THE best corned beef sandwich I've possibly ever had in my life (sorry NY). The beef went on for what felt like days and... More
