Good food but disorganized, disappointing service

Despite having reservations for a 4:30pm Valentine's Day dinner, the restaurant was not nearly ready. We were quickly seated but waited almost 20 minutes to be presented a menu that the staff were still printing. The menu included about 15 items with minimal description - our server was helpful... read more

Very good food, excellent wine selections. They open the windows on nice days so even inside you feel like your outside. Outdoor seating on sidewalk, great for people watching. Large patio in back. Terry, owner, is well known for his peach wine festival in the fall. Fun, fun place to go.

For our last night in Cleveland visiting friends, they took us to La Dolce Vita. So glad that we made reservations, and that they brought us here. From where they live, it was over a half hour drive, but SO worth it. When we walked in, people were waiting to be seated. So glad that our friends made reservations. We... More

We went on a Monday night, and pretty much had the place to ourselves after spending the afternoon at the museums. It was my first time in Cleveland, the city where my husband grew up. He wanted to show me a real Cleveland experience and this was it! This is not a trendy, super sleek, modern restaurant. It's so much... More

My family and I had just git into town and were staying in a small place right up the street from Little Italy and we decided to go into Little Italy for dinner. We decided on La Dolce Vita, which was the best choice that we could've made. We walked in and immediately we were greeted by a wonderfully old-fashioned... More

Was touring Cleveland with my family to visit schools and visited La Dolce Vita. We got personal recommendations on both wine and our dining experience. Each were.outstanding and took us to new experiences (the faro) and the treatments (the calamari). Rounding out the dinner was the halibut which was the crowning experience of the evening. Would recommend this to anyone... More

The owner made us uncomfortable at our table, he stood over us and was almost creepy, often touching us on the shoulders when it was unwanted. We asked about 'Ladies Night' which is why we went there, they said it was not. We then were offered a family style starters which they informed us was the best value for our... More

Fifteen years ago I asked a local chef what he considered to be the best restaurant in Little Italy. He replied that hands down it was La Dolce Vita. We tried it and not only agree, but have been coming back for fifteen years! The wine list is extensive and that includes a lot of Italian wines. The food, though,... More

This place is an absolute disgrace; there is nothing remotely positive I can say about this restaurant. The parking is terrible and the valet service was very rude. Even when we walked in, the girl supposed to be greeting people didn't acknowledge us for probably 10 minutes. I actually wanted to leave but was with five other people who insisted... More

I'd give it NEGATIVE stars if I could! I was with a large party on 2/28/15. our server did well considering the size of our party. The food was OK, nothing special. What I found absolutely INSULTING was the entrée size relative to the price. No soup/salad choice, ONLY the meager appetizer size entree @ $27. Three silver dollar size... More
