you bet your dips this is good polish food!

I live out of town but Sokolowki's is my favorite destination for memorable authentic Polish food. If you are looking for an upscale fine dining experience, this isn't where you belong but if you want a taste of heaven this is for you. This is the second visit here for us. First visit we were not impressed and the use of spaghetti sauce in the cabbage rolls took away from their authentic taste. This time, we ordered the pierogis. The minced onion did not compliment them and the sides were overcooked liked canned vegetables, It was not worth the money. This is not... More

Went with a visiting friend and it was great. It's not fancy, it's not eclectic BUT it's real basic, fast and good. Portions are generous. I LOVED the fact they had pie out front. It's like they read my mind on how a lunch should go. Got the Salsbury steak, mashed potatoes. The pireogies were hot smothered with butter and... More

I usually bring a group of 30 - 50 hungry travelers with me for lunch. It has not taken more than 20 minutes for everyone to get through the cafeteria style lunch line. As a travel group leader I hear every problem as it arises. I have not had any negative comments. The food is authentic, ethnic and delicious every... More

A lady on the plane to Cleveland recommended this old polish cafeteria to myself and my wife (who is 1st gen polish). We made it here and I'd say it's well worth a visit. It's tucked away under a million old bridges and ancient rusting infrastructure. The signs say it was started in 1920's so a little grime is to... More

Only actual history can fill up the walls of Sololowskis. Simple polish fare done incredibly well. The ruben is fantastic the peirogi are amazing. With sides of sour cream and potato salad, I barely had room for the fantastic pie. I could only wish that I had one of these places back home. Big thumbs up on service and the... More

I decided to make the stop here after Anthony Bourdain came here with Harvey Pekar. I love Polish food and wish there were more options around me, but sadly there aren't. I was in town for a family function and this was stop number one. It did not disappoint one single bit. The pierogis and stuffed cabbage were by far... More

Sokolowski's is a Cleveland institution, and deservedly so. The food is truly old school - stuffed cabbage, Salisbury steak, kielbasa and always perogi. Well-cooked (especially the perogi) and substantial, it's not hard to imagine your grandfather having lunch 90 years ago under the same roof. Mine likely did, as my dad's family lived in Tremont. It's not hip or trendy... More

low key, cafeteria style restaurant, what they lack in presentation they make up for in consistent quality. Love the potato pancakes and pierogis and cabbage rolls.
