Quite the spot for some FABULOUS food!

Recently I went to the Playhouse Square for a play and we decided to try this restaurant out. The staff working were all very accommodating, helpful & knowledgeable with the menu. Everyone loved their meals! I must say myself, the calamari salad as an appetizer was over the top delicious. I had... read more

.... I was told after possibly one of the most unpleasant dining experiences I've had in Cleveland. My husband and I had pre-theatre dinner reservations, so when we arrived, the place was (obviously) very busy. We were sat at this postage-sized table smack in the middle of the main aisle, a very high traffic area; when we inquired of possibly... More

Cowell & Hubbard is a very nice restaurant right in the heart of Playhouse Square.... The ambiance is upscale. I made a reservation for a Friday night at 7:30, and it was pretty empty. The menu has a variety of seafood and chicken dishes as well as pastas and vegan meals. I started with a bowl of the cream of... More

My guy won a gift of dinner for 4 people. We were here 12/11/2013. Everything we ate was delicious. It is an expensive restaurant with small and tasty dishes.

Cowell and Hubbard has stuck it out in the theater district - thankfully! The food and service is consistently good here. This trip around we had the beet with feta salad, the artichoke salad, the chicken livers and the seafood risotto. All wonderful. The beet salad has a bit of mint in it, which really livens it up. The artichoke... More

Clevelanders are well aware of the excellence that Zach Bruell brings to his multiple top shelf restaurants. Each is different, but the touch is very much the same. Cowell and Hubbard is a transformed former high end jewelry store, located an easy walk form all of the Playhouse square action and is the perfect spot for before or after theatre... More

The menu has a few more interesting items than many restaurants. Not that the menu is huge, but it has a wide selection of interesting items. I especially liked the Beef Marrow appetizer, it was also a generous portion, comparing it to other restaurants. i had the salmon entre, it was delicious also. The wine list has a nice variety,... Our large group made a reservation. We had a wonderful table and an excellent server. The enitre wait staff was wonderful as well. We ordered several bottles of wine, champagne, ice wine and a sauterne and all were perfect. We also ordered 6 different appetizers. The bone marrow was my favorite, but all were beyond delicious. My husband ordered the... More

This was a tremendous late lunch. We stopped in here and could not have been happier. The lobster bisque is some of the best in town...The food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere was great. I am anxious to try dinner here. We had 2 bowls of soup, beet salad, seafood dumplings, crispy pork, beef shoulder, drinks, dessert,... More

More than a sandwich, less than a dinner. Don't be fooled by the attention paid by the server. The expectation might be, given the way meals are presented and the attentiveness of the staff that you might be paying twice as much as the actual cost. I chose the braised beef shoulder. Delicious - lightly seasoned - came with a... More
