Dining before a Bob Dylan performance at The State Theater we were only steps away. We arrived 25 minutes before our reservation, however we were immediately seated in the very active, somewhat loud, near capacity restaurant. The house cabernet at $13 was a good buy and delicious and served by the affable Jennifer. The escargo was exceptional, much better than the usual... More

For pre theater dining, this is an excellent choice. We have been here only for post theater drinks so we selected this option for our pre-concert dinner. We made our reservations on Open Table and everything went as expected on a very busy theater night. We were seated directly and greeted within minutes by a friendly server that introduced us... We dined at Cowell & Hubbard tonight before a show at the Palace Theater. While the restaurant is nicely decorated and service attentive, we found our menu selections disappointing. I had the Smoked Porchetta. Although served with a tasty creamy polenta and braised cabbage, the porchetta was mostly unedible fat. My husband had the Chicken Breast served with polenta and... More

Located in what was once Cleveland's premiere jewelry story, Cowell and Hubbard's location in the Playhouse Square makes it an ideal location for pre- or post-theater dining. During our visit to Cleveland, we were lucky enough to secured tickets to see Motown:The Musical -- an excellent selection for a weekend of enjoying music history! Since the play began at 6:30... Four of us dined here last night. The staff was very accommodating with special requests for table selection and menu choices. The potato soup was spectacular! Shards of RP cheese, drizzle of EVOL, and a creamy potato base infused with Rosemary was a great start! I had the beef shoulder with kale and dauphinois potatoes. Everything came together so well!... This is the second time I have dined at this restaurant and the second time I have had a terrible meal. M'lovely and I were invited to join friends prior to the theater. I thought I would give this spot a second chance. When I first dined here a few months ago, I had ordered a veal entrée off the... More

Went to this restaurant based on the Trip Advisor reviews. Unfortunately, we had an awful experience. First, our server made us feel rushed from the time we were ordering until the time she cleared our plates. This was a big turn off when you are looking to have a relaxing dinner. Then the food came... My partner ordered the bouillabaisse... More

Visited before playhouse event. Amanda was our server and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave both her preferences and recommendations based on guest preferences. Enjoyed the crispy pork stack, calamari salad and some great wine. Entrees included bouillabaisse and beef shoulder and both were delicious. We'll be back. All staff was friendly.

In town for a Browns game. Our three fish dishes were prepared perfectly. Staff very knowledgeable about the beer on tap and the dishes. We shared a wonderful Shrimp and Lobster Bisque. The bisque had a great sweet red pepper flavour. The artisan bread with olive oil was abundant and when we asked for some balsamic vinegar and shaved Parmesan... More
