Italian fare with flare

Chinato is easy to spot in its corner location on E 4th St and Prospect, and worth a try if you are in town for a convention. Our party of 25 all looked happy and well fed by the end of the meal. Unfortunately, the shrimp in my seafood cannelloni was rubbery. The cocktails were inventive, the... read more

We were in Cleveland recently for the Antique Roadshow, staying at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown and had a taste for good Italian food. The concierge do not hesitate with his recommendation of the Chinato, which is just a short 15 minute walk from the hotel. We had an antipasti dinner, starting with the Salumi plate. For our entrées my wife... More

Same owner as L'Albatross. The atmosphere was relaxed, service was very good, and the food was excellent. Good wine list. A little gem downtown. They even worked out very efficient parking in a busy area. Can't wait to go back.

I ordered a pizza to share . I asked for sausage on half of the pizza. The waitress brought us a pizza with half cheese and the other half no cheese and dried up sausage balls. I had asked the waitress to add cheese on the half with sausage as I had originally ordered.she brought it back to us and... More

Had time to kill after wedding ceremony and before reception. Very good. Had wine and salumi appetizer. Great bread. Waiter spilled water on my wife. No real damage. Manager comped our wine. Nice. Would go again.

The service at Chinato was outstanding, which we deeply appreciated. Sadly, the food portions - vs - the prices charged, simply didn't seem appropriate. The food had ample flavor, but I wouldn't call it iconic by any stretch of the imagination. Unfortunately, two within our party of four had upset stomach's later that evening. Was it the food or the... More

I am so spoiled because I travel to nyc frequently. I was overwhemled by the level of sophistication at Chinato. The food transported me to my travels to Italy. I am rarely happy in most restaurants but I experienced one of the best meals of my life. Zach Buell has not spared an expense with food quality and I really... More

We had reservations and were seated in the bar. Basically we had peoples' butts in our faces all night The Tuna Crudo and Fried Artichokes. The Tuna was shaved so thin you could see through it - but you couldn't taste it. You could only taste the crispy speck and the tomato coulis. The artichokes were difficult to eat. They... More

osso bucco was very well executed. All of us had good dishes that exude robust flavored. The waitress was able to recommend dishes based on our individual palates quite well. Walking distance to the Q. Reasonable valet parking with a validation stamp. Would definitely recommend my friends trying this restaurant.
