We were visiting Cleveland and the University Circle area and had a special "end of the trip" dinner at this restaurant. It was a lovely evening, the atmosphere cozy and intimate, the food incredible and the waitress professional and accommodating. I would highly recommend it. However, it gets REALLY busy especially on nights where there are performances at nearby Severance... More

Ya know,,,, There I was looking over restaurants on TripAdvisor to take our friends from Florida. Had the short list and of course picked the number one. Got there just before the onslaught of the lunch crowd. There were 4 of us and everyone ordered something different with the idea of sharing. Without going into detail two fo the dishes... More

We enjoyed an excellent dinner at L' ALbatros a fine restaurant off of University Circle, sort of on fraternity row on the Case-Western Reserve campus. Easy walking distance to Severance Hall. Marilyn had the chicken liver pate as an appetizer, I had radish and cucumber salad. Both were very good. She had hanger steak which was well prepared. I had... More

We never would have found L'Albatros if a friend hadn't recommended it. It was the best way to spend our last night in town. We had escargot and a terrine for starters, onion soup and then trout and braised lamb for entrees. By the time we got to dessert we were so stuffed we had to share just one -... More

Smack dab in the middle of Case Western Reserve University’s campus is a little gem of a restaurant called L’Albatros. It’s one of those places that college students ask visiting parents to take them because it’s a tad pricy for the average student. It’s also worth every penny. The decor is fresh and elegant, without being stuffy. We wore jeans... More

After a visit at the Cleveland Museum of Art, a group of friends and I stopped by L'Albatros for an early aperitif - around 4:15 pm. We sat at the bar where we were the only customers. The bartender could not hear our orders even when we repeated them a couple of times. I think he was having trouble understanding... More

I wanted to like this place and expected it to live up to its stellar reviews. Error of major proportions. Act 1: Chop salad was too busy and the dressing unbalanced. The risotto was grossly undercooked and the broth salty. This was returned to the kitchen. Act 2: Server disappeared with offensive dish and dismissed incident as "it happens." From... More

We visited this restaurant and brasserie while visiting Cleveland. We had read about it in some of the literature for places to dine in that city. That particular evening they had a special of their version of Cassoulette (sorry for spelling! bean soup), Duck Confit, and a fish special, We also added drinks and dessert for 3 the total came...
