I hate to give this place an average review, because I believe they are earnest in their attempts to please, but I just felt uncomfortable with their pretentious menu, expensive prices, slightly dirty outdoor seating, slow service, and not that great food. I like the local sourcing, but no one needs to be snooty about it.

Yes, they actually make their own hot dogs, roll them in batter and serve them up with their own mustard sauce and their own ketchup... Great for an appetizer! The mac & cheese w/bacon was super too. Atmosphere is very casual and fun.

Personally I don't like my meat to still be red & that's clearly how they prefer to serve the food.... but other than that, they have some really fun stuff on the menu & much of it is locally sourced. The waiter we had was excellent - really loved his job, the restaurant, and everything else. I had the lamb... More

This was our second time at The Greenhouse Tavern and we were just as impressed as the first time. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. What we like about The Greenhouse Tavern is the variety of local/seasonal food. For us, it is a special occasion destination and we love to tell friends about it and then get... More

Made dinner reservations to dine here after a playhouse show. When we got there, on time, they couldn't find our reservation. They were able to offer us a seat in the window. Seat was good for people watching. We decided to split a 5 course tasting menu. The amuse crostini was quite tasty and we were both pretty hopeful but... More

This is the first time I ever saw "pigs head" on a menu. I had to have it, just out of curiosity. It is twice baked and very juicy and tasty. You don't get the ears, tongue or brain, and it is only half the head, but it is a huge meal. Served with a couple buns, lettuce and a... More

I've been in Cleveland for business a fair amount this year (I live in Los Angeles) and this is my favorite place. Inventive without being fussy, richly flavored, great friendly service, warm relaxed environment. Having binged on steak the night before I went vegan and had a whole grilled eggplant with a couple of sauces -- absolute perfection. Also a... More

Cool restaurant with a great menu but we were in the mood for burgers and were thrilled with our choice. Came with pommes frites and a fabulous pickle. Really broad and excellent beer selection. Even the French press coffee and the desserts were outstanding.

The Greenhouse Tavern had an amazing menu that uses local farms for many of their dishes. The menu is so unique and definitely worth visiting when you are in Cleveland. I was just in town for one night and am so glad I had the fortune of dining here.

We went to the Greenhouse Tavern in Cleveland, which is in the funky East Fourth Street Area (which is well worth the visit). The idea for the Greenhouse is excellent - local food, french influences, good beers, great wines - all cooked with flair and interest. The menu is great, and surprisingly interesting - quite a bit to choose from.... More
