Good food, good service

It's such a lovely experience dining here, I wish I lived closer. But I was surprised that it was only around 45 minutes from the eastern suburbs of Cleveland. I really enjoyed the Welsh rarebit which included large chunks of lobster -- yum!

This place is a bright spot in an otherwise bland area. Not much around here. Too be fair we went here to take a break from the road and not so much because we were hungry. Seeing some of the lunch dishes walk past me I wish I were hungrier because the chicken pot pie looked amazing. We had appetizers... More

We visited some old friends who live out in the country 40 minutes outside Cleveland. They said the choices weren't plentiful for dinner, but they chose The Welshfield Inn. The drive up appeal is charming, apple pie and all that. The restaurant is always crowded, so reservations are recommended. There are several dining options, I.e., outside, covered porch, inside, bar.... More

I liked their lunch menu. The perch lunch had two great pieces of perch cooked to perfection. They also have patio seating available.

We had dinner at the Welshfield Inn last Saturday evening. The food is always good, and we especially enjoy eating on their patio. It's a lovely setting in the country and makes for a romantic meal. The inside is nice too, but if we can get a table outside we will. The air conditioning is always too cold inside.

When you walk into the Welshfield Inn, you are surrounded by Colonial period charm. Staff is attentive and right on the mark and the food is outstanding. A fellow reviewer called it comfort food with a twist. This is absolutely true. The pork shank was cooked to perfection, lightly covered with a mild bourbon bbq sauce and served over perfectly... I love this place! I just wish I could afford to go more often! The food is amazing. From steaks to pot roast you can't get a bad meal here. We usually only go here on special occasions because it's pricey. I was disappointed when we went there on New Year's Eve and they took the petite filet mignon off... More

If you long for pot roast, stroganoff, chicken pot pie, take a drive out Rt 422. We just returned from a lovely lunch alfresco. The service was attentive and the entrees were well prepared. We had the beef stroganoff, shrimp and grits and the welsh rarebit. The beef was lean and the sauce tasty. The shrimp and grits was creamy... More

A lovely setting with landscaped grounds and a historical building. We had a business meeting at the Inn. The service was great and the food was quality. We were in a hurry and sorry that we couldn't really relax and spend some time there. We will make a point to visit there in the future! I would highly recommend the... More

My favorite local restaurant for nicer dining. The menu covers a great variety of choices and one can have a very casual or a more formal experience here. It's easy to stop by for a lunch or plan ahead for a nice dinner. Great dining.
