Comfort Food Menu with a twist

If you long for pot roast, stroganoff, chicken pot pie, take a drive out Rt 422. We just returned from a lovely lunch alfresco. The service was attentive and the entrees were well prepared. We had the beef stroganoff, shrimp and grits and the welsh rarebit. The beef was lean and the sauce tasty... read more

When you walk into the Welshfield Inn, you are surrounded by Colonial period charm. Staff is attentive and right on the mark and the food is outstanding. A fellow reviewer called it comfort food with a twist. This is absolutely true. The pork shank was cooked to perfection, lightly covered with a mild bourbon bbq sauce and served over perfectly... I love this place! I just wish I could afford to go more often! The food is amazing. From steaks to pot roast you can't get a bad meal here. We usually only go here on special occasions because it's pricey. I was disappointed when we went there on New Year's Eve and they took the petite filet mignon off... More

A lovely setting with landscaped grounds and a historical building. We had a business meeting at the Inn. The service was great and the food was quality. We were in a hurry and sorry that we couldn't really relax and spend some time there. We will make a point to visit there in the future! I would highly recommend the... More

My favorite local restaurant for nicer dining. The menu covers a great variety of choices and one can have a very casual or a more formal experience here. It's easy to stop by for a lunch or plan ahead for a nice dinner. Great dining.

I drove a friend to Burton to have lunch at the Welshfield Inn. We chose to sit outside on the patio because the weather was cooler than usual for a late Spring day. The menu was extensive, with interesting choices, including 3 soups, many sandwiches, salads and some entrees. It was my second time there for lunch. Service was quick... More

Nice drive in summer, midway between Cleveland and Youngstown. Dining on the patio is lovely. Food is excellent. Tonite we shared calamari and very finely shaved and fried zucchini, both delicious. Then we had beef liver, salmon, fried perch, and carbonara pasta...all excellent. We ate in the bar area as it was raining. Liked the bar better than main dining... More

We went for our anniversary and did not regret it. It is pricey, but had excellent food, service and ambiance.

Yesterday I ordered the plank Salmon with rice pilaf. I eat salmon allot when I go out to eat, and at home. The salmon was juicy but loaded with salt. I could not taste the salmon favor at all! The rice pilaf, same thing, loaded with salt. I believe it may have been made with very salty chicken broth. The... More

I took Mom to the Welshfield Inn for a Mother's Day Buffet in the Conference Center (next door to the Inn). There was a little bit of a wait for a table even with reservations (but it was Mothers Day and crowded). We were seated after about 15 minutes. The conference center is nicely decorated and is one large room... More
