Did not like the side dishes. The chicken was moist but pricey. Hot rice was like water and too spicey.
In my opinion this is the best barberton chicken house. It's dated and nothing fancy, but the food is good. Big servings and always consistent. Take the family!
This is another of the Barberton chicken houses and they have excellent chicken dinners They have a carry out restaurant near my house and if I want really good chicken, that's where I go. Also, if you go on their website and sign up for their newsletters they send out monthly coupons like Buy 1 dinner, get 1 free. All... More
Well, I had mixed feelings about this place based on the reviews I had read but my son's working buddies raved about it and it was his birthday. If you want to go back in time to a 1950's-60's local, non-franchise, chicken joint, this is for you. We ordered the 20 piece meal with 3 large sides. Plenty for the... More
Most of the time the chicken is only fried one time. Sometimes it is fried again to warm it up or at least it tastes like it. Better since las year when we had some horrible meals.
We've been coming here for 30 years. I've ate at all the Barberton chicken houses and in all of them the chicken taste about the same. Its really good chicken as far as I'm concerned. This location across from the plaza in Barberton has great service, friendly workers and delivers the chicken really fast even when they are packed. Of... More
I've grown up on fried chicken, even cooked in lard. So when I asked the waitress why this chicken was like no other chicken I've ever had (not in a good way!), and she replied that maybe it was because it was fried in lard, well, that can't be the reason. This chicken was the worst I've ever eaten. I... More
The sides offered are great from the fries, to the hot rice you cannot go wrong. However I dont think the chicken is worth the price. Barberton chicken definitely has a bland taste and maybe I've just grown out of it. They do make it easy to order for large groups and there are multiple locations in the summit county... More
Portions for take out are very small pieces - this has happened enough times that we no longer go there for take out. It does seem the chicken pieces are much larger if you dine in...
Don't waste your time on this place. We were greatly disappointed, and can't believe this place was featured on Food Feuds. To be perfectly frank, the chicken was disgusting. We ended up bringing it home to give to the dog. The crust is bland and had an odd chewy texture, and left a bad aftertaste. It is cooked in lard,... More
