Pricey, but worth it

Maxwell's serves up some of the best, most original food in town. They are a little expensive, but well worth the bucks for a special splurge. Their Thursday night jazz is an additional reason to visit this dining monument in the area.

Had a business dinner here recently. Outside, the strip mall location doesn't do justice to the interior of the restaurant. Food was OK. The beef was somewhat fatty and cooked inconsistently. Frankly I've had better steaks at the Outback. Appetizers were just OK...heavy on the presentation. Service was disappointing. When I buy an $80 bottle of wine, I expect that... More

The food was not as good as expected especially for the price. Service was average nothing that stood out. The drinks where once again average. Both of the appetizers were not good at all.

The food was good and the service was attentive. Menu choices was not wide but ok. Many items were steak andred meat based, although creatively done.

Maxwells is one of my favorite restaurants in Fargo. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. They have a great wine list, and the bar management is wonderful. Their brunch is also fantastic! They have plenty of salads, warm entrees, and in addition to the mandatory omelette station, they feature made to order crepes.

We are traveling and chose Maxwell's on Open Table. What a delightful surprise it was!! Our appetizers of crab cakes & scallops were perfect Our entrees of lobster fettuccini and rack of lamb were excellent. Even the bread pudding for dessert was great. Service was attentive and friendly. Their wine list was not up-to-date and it took 3 tries to... More

Had what was quite possibly the toughest, most gristly ribeye steak I've ever eaten. To be fair, others in my party had good meals.

First our waitress was superb, very knowledgeable and very helpful, not to mention friendly. The winelist is extensive and the "wine cellar" impressive. Nice wood warms the place and the paintings add a very nice atmosphere. Everyone was friendly and nice. The bread was excellent, the flat bread very tasty and crisp. I will say if I was reviewing the entrees... More
