Visited for a group lunch for a friends birthday and can certainly say that you are paying for the location primarily. The meals were quite overpriced for what they are and at a price of $26 for flathead and chips we were disappointed that there was more batter than fish on the plate so for two adults and a teen... The Flying Fish Cafe was recommended to us and it was one of the best tips we have ever received. With great service and exceptional food this eatery would be sensational in the back streets of a dingy suburb, but given it proximity to the coastline and the mesmerising views the Flying Fish Café should we at the top of... Book for 7pm on the Saturday night, a cold night, so sat by window inside, very pretty little blue fairy lights, table was great, service was great to start with, food was really nice, we all had King George Whiting fish and chips. Was really nice and fresh. We took our own wine and paid for corkage, a lovely relaxing... More

Having read so much about this restaurant, the Flying Fish was top of our list to try when we reach the Fleurieu Peninsula. It was a lovely sunny day in a magic location and we opted for the casual dining on the deck which was pretty busy coping with takeaways as well. I suppose that should have been the clue,... More

Recently I retired from a rather stressful job. A colleague had changed jobs a year earlier and we needed to catch up for lunch with our respective spouses to review life and circumstances. The Flying Fish is located on a fantastic beach front location and the architecture is still suitable for the locale. We all met up on a Tuesday... More

I have been to the Flying Fish many times over the years and its always been very good. Recently it changed hands but the service and the food have become even better. The new menu has a great choice and the seafood on the menu is so fresh. They also have an excellent choice of wines at reasonable prices. I... More

A nice little cove on the south coast, just next to Victor Harbour. This cafe can be quite busy on a warm day, as it was when we went. The ice creams are very nice indeed to cool you down and the size is very good as well. In the Summer, have a dip in the bay while you are... More

My partner and i have been here several times and it's never been disappointing! The views looking out towards the ocean are beautiful, service was great and the food always a winner. It does get very busy especially on the warmer days, as you can imagine but it's so worth while to take a trip down here even if you... More

Had lunch on a Saturday. Service was good, food was excellent, view magnificent. Don't expect a cheap lunch. Mains averaging around $35. Nice for a special occasion or if you feel like a splurge.
