Woodstock Coterie, built in 1988, was designed to nestle among the towering century old gum trees. The design took into consideration the location of each of these amazing native trees. Not one significant tree was cut down to accommodate building the restaurant. Hence, the Coterie's unique semicircle shape. Rammed earth walls encase the dining area, providing a warm feel and at the same time complementing The Coterie's unique quintessentially Australian landscape. Glass doors and windows frame the lush native gardens creating an atrium feel for the discerning patron. Upstairs there is a mezzanine level available for private tastings, conferences and functions. The name 'Coterie' was chosen for the word's meaning; the gathering of a group of people, or rather a circle of friends, for a specific purpose... that for us includes great food, good company and finest wines at Woodstock

Fantastic winery and restaurant

Visiting Australia to see relatives. We just had to visit Woodstock again. The winery is excellent and the staff certainly know their stuff when it comes to wine. The tasting was very generous which encouraged us to go into the restaurant. The food and wine was fabulous.

We visited for a Sunday afternoon lunch. It was a bit cool outside so we chose to sit inside where there was a guitar player providing background music. He was quite good and not intrusive at all. The atmosphere of the restaurant area was a bit empty even though there were quite a number of people there. Our waitress was... More

Dined as a group of 15. Pleasant atmosphere. Welcoming & accommodating staff. The starter brought to the table seemed to be a strange addition to the all inclusive meal. It was a tiny slice of a sausage roll with salad greens. It was tasty but being presented prior to all you can eat wood fire oven pizza, well... it just... More

We had booked for a lunch to celebrate my birthday. we had to wait almost two hours from ordering to receiving our meals. There were no apologies or explanations, in fact the staff pretty much ignored us. The local pub has comparable meals (at a cheaper price) and much better service, and the waiters there would top up our drinks... More

Don't let the unkempt garden areas put you off which are all really natural, just like the areas around Woodstock. Inside it was a warm welcoming restaurant with a live music performance. The menu had options for gluten free and vegetarian which all sounded really nice. We started with sourdough bread and then braised lamb shank and a perfectly cooked... More

Dear Angela, I am extremely pleased to hear such positive reviews of Woodstock. We pride ourselves on providing options for every person that comes to the restaurant. My boyfriend and i went to Woodstock for lunch on Sunday and it was the perfect way to spend a cold, rainy day. The restaurant was nice and warm and all the staff were very welcoming. Dear Amanda, It is great to have such positive feedback. It’s a shame that you didn’t get to do a tasting before your meal as the Cellar Door staff are extremely knowledgeable and you always walk away from them having learnt something new. However, it is fantastic that your waitress was able to give you some wines to taste and... More

A group of us went to the Friday night wood oven pizza evening. It included a small starter, eat as much pizza as you like and a small dessert. Starter, pizza's and dessert where all delicious. Live musician playing great music and a fire burning completed the evening perfectly. Already planning another evening there.
