Woodstock Coterie, built in 1988, was designed to nestle among the towering century old gum trees. The design took into consideration the location of each of these amazing native trees. Not one significant tree was cut down to accommodate building the restaurant. Hence, the Coterie's unique semicircle shape. Rammed earth walls encase the dining area, providing a warm feel and at the same time complementing The Coterie's unique quintessentially Australian landscape. Glass doors and windows frame the lush native gardens creating an atrium feel for the discerning patron. Upstairs there is a mezzanine level available for private tastings, conferences and functions. The name 'Coterie' was chosen for the word's meaning; the gathering of a group of people, or rather a circle of friends, for a specific purpose... that for us includes great food, good company and finest wines at Woodstock

Delicious Food, Great Wine

Stopped here for lunch during a wine tasting tour of Mclaren Vale. The 50 day aged sirloin was absolutely delicious - cooked perfectly and the seasoning and sauce was spot on. One of the best steaks I've ever had. The cheese and regional platters were delicious and the wines were wonderful too... read more

We arrived on what was looking a very hot day in SA. No problem. The air con was cranked up and we were very chilled. Entrees were great but the Slow Cooked LAMB was STUNNING!!!!!!!! Wines were superb and desert (don't normally do chocolate for desert) was just great. Fab Day !

We had been recommended the Friday night pizza and live entertainment at Woodstock Winery by a friend. The staff promptly booked us in at the date and time we requested from an online enquiry, and when we had to find alternative accommodation in McLaren Vale the night we were booked in they were happy to adjust our time. The staff... More

Beautiful surroundings for a Sunday lunch. Sat outdoors under the shade of 2 umbrellas, easy spot to watch the kids playing on the play equipment. Had the platters to share, and they were delicious, asked for no meat as are vegetarians and the staff replaced the meat with more cheese!! It was such a pleasant surprise, usually places just take... More

Well done to all at the Woodstock Coterie and cellar door. Great service and excellent wines. The lunch platter was magnificent - local produce and in-house specialties like goats cheese with honey and amazing pate - both devine. Had a terrific Chardonnay too. Very grateful to find this place open on New Year's Day and setting amongst eucalypts is special.... More

Came here to try their amazing range of wines and also stayed for lunch. We opted for The degustation menu. 5 courses of amazingly presented and beautifully put together fresh, local food. If you are looking for a place that has it all, service, friendliness, ambience, food and wine. Look no further!

The rammed earth Coterie sits perfectly in a beautiful garden setting providing a choice of attractive indoor and outdoor dining. The excellent service was both friendly, attentive and professional. The food was attractively served and delicious and the slow cooked lamb shoulder just floated off the bone. I discovered the Coterie by chance on the Web and we will definitely... More

This one has it all! Taste the wines, buy the wines and then go 30 mtrs to the restaurant to enjoy your wine with amazing food. Excellent service and you can sit inside in winter, or out in the large patio area when the weather is nicer. A fantastic spot to take friends.

Came here with friends who brought here for Sunday lunch whilst visiting Adelaide (from Melbourne) set in a beautiful setting the winery is relaxed, friendly, rustic but also has a nice refinement to it. We order the Smoky bay oysters which were absolutely one of the best tasting oysters I've had. We had the share antipasto between four of us... More
