After a few tries at different places for lunch in McLaren Valve we got a table at Red Poles and it was a nice surprise. There are a few different places were you can sit, outside in the garden or under the veranda. All the food we we had was very tasty, well presented & fresh plus the service was... More

beautiful, country setting. Restaurant allows inside or outside, under verandah or on grassed area under beautiful trees. The food was amazing. My husband had kangaroo fillet, Absolutely beautiful, tender and full of flavour. I had oven baked snapper, again ,beautifully cooked and not a chip in site. All the salad and veges were locally grown and the passion fruit sorbet for dessert... More

We stopped here for a drink, feed and rest during a day long push bike tour. What a great spot to relax after a few hours in the saddle. The beer was cold and the food great. Not much more to say but.... go and visit. Try the pate and the bread that has walnut and ?? another nice ingredient... More

Rambling garden set a quaint environment. Our gnocchi was well cooked and beautifully presented. Could have used a touch of acidity to highlight flavours of the fresh produce. While we did arrive for the end of lunch service it was disappointing to find so many dishes were not available. With such a small menu it doesn't leave much choice. Biggest... More

Went with friends for lunch as we had been here before (about 4 times) and loved it. 2 had deep fried snapper and the others had gnocchi. The fish was cooked perfectly but the potato salad was very bland. The gnocchi was excellent but needed a touch of parmesan to liven it up a tad. Beautiful setting and the service... More

The staff replenished the cold water without having to be asked and as... More

Received the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Our group left feeling like an inconvenience and embarrassed. Would never go out of my way to go there again!

We came here twice during a 3 week stay in McLaren Vale. It looks like a nice basic garden cafe and restaurant with a nice garden and wine tasting area, but the quality of the food and service take it to the next level of fine dining. The food and wine is fantastic and pleasantly surprising. I am definately coming... More
