Well worth a visit

We were on holidays recently in Adelaide keen to explore the McLaren Vale region. We chose Red Poles and were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, making sure we were seated in a warm cosy spot. Ambiance is beautifully rustic and relaxed. We were very impressed by the... read more

Exquisite food, quality setting and wonderful staff. Its worth a trip, great restaurant amongst a wonderful art gallery. Kiln have their cellar door on site and live entertainment. This is a wonderful way to spend the day with friends.

We went for a Friday lunch - setting was beautiful and quiet, food was divine and accompanied by great wine. Friendly and attentive staff and no feeling of being rushed even though there were only a few customers and we were definitely lingering. Wine tasting and an art gallery to keep you occupied. Happy afternoon.

Enjoyed a delicious seafood chowder and gnocchi today. Always a delight to visit Red Poles, gallery, beer and wine tasting, accommodation, art workshops - there's something for everyone.

Terrible service, disorganized: went at 11am cellar door still locked, they lost the key. The owner was not welcoming and just wanted to focus on the tour bus than arrived....not us.

My husband and I chose Red Poles for our wedding reception to be held earlier this month and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of venue. From the first contact with Ros we were given the most wonderful help and support to make it a truly fantastic evening. We live in the UK and organised almost all of... More

Very mixed reviews on here but our experience was a place that seemed to be overstretched. We had to prompt staff for a drink, our entrée took forever ( was the olives and dukkah) so not really a lot of prep needed there. Main course took 45 mins+ to arrive, just far too long between courses. My 'medium' beef fillet... More

To be honest we weren't blown away by Red Poles. We were on an organised tour and lunch here was included. We could choose from the kangaroo or the fish (which was salmon). I mistakenly opted for the 'roo which I didn't enjoy at all. This may as much as anything be a reflection of my tastebuds rather than the... More

Had been to Red Poles a number of times about 12 months ago and it was excellent so my recent visit was very disappointing. The pork belly was served with what was supposed to be crackling but was in effect something that looked like a huge white prawn cracker. It was cold white fat that seemed to have been fried....
