Good but inconsistent

Normally a reliable eatery but on the last visit an order of calves liver is tough with significant gristle. Food is generally good, place is homey and has patio. Good local wines and staff always friendly

Went here with two friends on an extended visit to Adelaide. We were recommended by friends. We had a Sunday lunch. We had booked, but there were plenty of tables. We ate inside as it was quite cold. The "shed" is a wonderful environment. We were given exceptional service and clear advice on food and wine. The portion sizes were... More

Attended a wedding here and really loved the setup, very country classic. The views and the grounds are stunning, very picturesque and peaceful, perfect as a wedding venue. The service was excellent (especially Sarah, who was so friendly and happy!) Food was good, wine fantastic. Thank you.

We enjoyed a VERY relaxing lunch... Our service was fantastic. The lamb was great, however the serve was a little small for a guy.. The salmon platter, pate platter we the right size. The olives was wonderful. Location is lively with a view of the vines.

This place is one of the best restaurants I have tried in McLaren Vale. The outdoor seating was beautiful with lush green sceneries. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and made with fresh produces. The cooking method highlights the local ingredients and we truly enjoyed our meal here and will highly recommend to people/

Shared entrees and nibbles to make up an excellent, unusual and highly enjoyable lunch. Never came across celery and vodka sorbet before - what a delight!

Well done Currant Shed. You exceeded my expectations with a very sophisticated well balanced menu in a delightful surrounding. I am a huge fan of lambs brains (many of you will say eeekkk now) and I was so excited when I saw them on the menu, I was tempted to have them for entrée and main. They didn't disappoint and... Really looked forward to our lunch and had to change my travel plans to fit this lunch in. Perhaps the high expectations affected my enjoyment of the lunch. My husband ordered the roasted mussels starter and the kangaroo loin. Both were exceptional, the broccoli puree accompanying the mussels was very flavourful and the kangaroo loin very tender and not at... More

A lovely setting for lunch in the vines, with outdoor seating, except it was pouring on the day we visited. Friendly and efficient service made this a place you'd come back to time and time again. Unfortunately the food was reasonable rather than remarkable and the wine list was poor for a restaurant in its location. There were very few... More

Second visit to this spot. Fantastic location. Went for a work lunch, and was seated in the little separate room down the end. This was both good and bad. Nice little bit of privacy at the expense of waiters attention. Both occasions the food has been superb. However the service on this occasion left a significant amount to be desired.... More
