This place is one of the best restaurants I have tried in McLaren Vale. The outdoor seating was beautiful with lush green sceneries. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and made with fresh produces. The cooking method highlights the local ingredients and we truly enjoyed our meal here and will highly recommend to people/

Shared entrees and nibbles to make up an excellent, unusual and highly enjoyable lunch. Never came across celery and vodka sorbet before - what a delight!

Well done Currant Shed. You exceeded my expectations with a very sophisticated well balanced menu in a delightful surrounding. I am a huge fan of lambs brains (many of you will say eeekkk now) and I was so excited when I saw them on the menu, I was tempted to have them for entrée and main. They didn't disappoint and... Really looked forward to our lunch and had to change my travel plans to fit this lunch in. Perhaps the high expectations affected my enjoyment of the lunch. My husband ordered the roasted mussels starter and the kangaroo loin. Both were exceptional, the broccoli puree accompanying the mussels was very flavourful and the kangaroo loin very tender and not at... More

A lovely setting for lunch in the vines, with outdoor seating, except it was pouring on the day we visited. Friendly and efficient service made this a place you'd come back to time and time again. Unfortunately the food was reasonable rather than remarkable and the wine list was poor for a restaurant in its location. There were very few... More

Second visit to this spot. Fantastic location. Went for a work lunch, and was seated in the little separate room down the end. This was both good and bad. Nice little bit of privacy at the expense of waiters attention. Both occasions the food has been superb. However the service on this occasion left a significant amount to be desired.... More

Group lunch which could have been great but instead was average. Arrived and loved the location and restaurant itself with the outlook over the vines. Service was slow and staff had poor knowledge of the menu itself, i think if you have a question staff should know the answer. Food was average although i think looking at some of the... More

I stopped here for lunch on the recommendation of a local winery. The food was superb (crispy skin Barramundi) and the waitress was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The setting was nice, amid fields of grapevines and I just wish I lived nearby as I probably eat here several times a week. At least 5 stars!

My first visit to The Currant Shed and it was definitely up & down. We came early so we decided to have a few drinks outside before our other friends turned up. Sitting outside was fantastic with great views over Orchards & vineyard - definitely 5 star. When it came to the food I was also very happy with my... More

Had a beautiful Lunch. Excellent views and service. Pigs cheek for starters was beautifully cooked. Braised Rabbit looked amazing On presentation and was devine. And as for the crazy dessert of Brioch French toast, bacon, cherry tomato and bacon and egg ice cream, well it just had to be tastied and surprisingly it was very nice. Yep bizarre but bacon...
