I absolutely love the hot chocolates here. I've tried many others around Hahndorf and neighbouring towns but none beat the ones at Chocolate No 5!

On a nice winter rainy day this is the perfect place to keep warm inside and out. It's a little out of the way being towards the end of the Main Street. Having been to Belgium I can vouch for the Belgian chocolate and highly recommend the Brownie! Coffee was good but not enough to give it a 5.

It is not worth the walk if you are a visitor to Hahndorf on a Tuesday or Wednesday because it is closed.

Dear Trevor S It's a pity you didn't visit us on one of the days we are open, as your rating could then have been based on our desserts and the service we offer our customers, not on the fact that we close for two days a week. As stated on our website, we are always closed on Tuesdays and... More

Worth the walk down to end of the main street, this café is in an old cottage with roses out the front, which looks invitingly old worlde. Inside there is a modern chocolate café with an inviting menu. It was difficult to choose from the tempting menu for hot chocolates and the snacks. A must for chocoholics!

I have to admit I love me a real hot chocolate, the real melted chocolate makes all the difference. It is a bit pricey compared to chocolat but I am happy to pay extra if it is good and the service is at a good standard. Would reccomend.

Always worth savouring that special chocolate craving here where the choice is extensive and the cafe is charmingly presented in an historic stone cottage, a row of topiary roses beckon from the street and set the mood for a romantic liaison on the verandah.

I'm almost embarrassed to say this but I just paid $17 for a thick shake, at first when the staff member told me the price I nearly died but I thought go with it .......it'd have to be pretty special for that price ! Served in a glass ......nothing special about it. I felt so embarrassed that I'd been taken... More

Dear Chillimudcrab, First off, we do not offer a thick shake on our menu. I had a discussion with the staff member who served you and she advised me that you were quite insistent on having a thick shake. Our premium Belgian iced chocolate which is made to an exacting recipe using REAL melted Belgian couverture chocolate is used to... More

We stumbled upon this precious offering whilst waiting for our accommodation to be ready. The sstaff worked swiftly and were very friendly. The coffee was fabulous as were the other drinks ordered at our table. We will return prior to the end of our stay in Hahndorf as the Devonshire tea and chocolate brownie deserve our undivided attention!!!
