Best things first..... this ‘restaurant’ was the only one offering a full lunch. OK that’s where the accolades stop. The menu was offering trans fats in various forms, disguised and obvious, so we opted instead for the seafood chowder with corn and bacon. That seemed a reasonable choice. We opted for a wine, seemed strange that there was no wine... More

We went here on the 26th of June for lunch, since it was the only place still serving lunch at around 3 pm. We had some cheesy garlic bread, which was nice. Very greasy, but tasty. We then both had the fish'n'chips. The fish had way too much batter and the tartare sauce was definitely not home made. Chips were... More

We stumbled upon the Fish Bar our first night in Mission Beach. We ordered the barramundi and were not disappointed. The place was very busy and we were still waited on promptly and got our dinners right away. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next night.

I went here tonight with some new friends and there was supposedly a $13 meal night!! Not!!One person had seafood chowder and it looked great and he said it was great. I ordered it with garlic bread and and it was a few spoonfuls of lumpy fish mixture that tasted OK but was nothing like the other order - dry... More

Specials board at front had seafood chowder which was the main reason we decided to eat there. Walked in & place empty despite 1 table if 2, asked waitress if we could seat ourselves & she said no quite rudely so was taken aback at the very first step inside. We sat at table to be told the chowder was... More

We have been to the Fish Bar a number of times for a quiet drink. Last night we had a meal there. We had one of the special board meals. Seafood chowder with bacon and corn, $18 each. Best chowder we have ever had. The staff are friendly, attentive and very personable. The location is right in town and the... More

We really enjoyed our meal here - we shared a salt and pepper calamari, then had grilled barramundi with lemon pepper sauce and tempura prawns. Both meals came with nice chips and fresh salad - the prawns were more crumbed than tempura, but still very nice. A small, simple menu done well, with very friendly service.

You can not go to Mission Beach unless you try The Fish Bar. Bernie has been around for some time and has settled at the fish bar. Great Sunday Roast, and the beer is also nice and cold.

In Mission Beach for a week and thought Fish Bar looked ok for our first night and we weren't disappointed. Food was great & good value for the price. Drinks also cheap compared to most restaurants. Was a very busy night with a couple of big noisy groups so the staff were busy but no inattentive. Good atmosphere, will go... More

We stopped here for lunch - it was pouring with rain, which did not help the atmosphere. The place looked really busy, so we called in. It has a nice concise menu of meat and seafood dishes with lots of chef's specials on the blackboard. Mains from $10. We had surf 'n' turf at $28 each. A few prawns in... More
