We arrived at South Mission Beach on a Sunday afternoon, to find the local supermarket closed for the day and therefore nothing for dinner or breakfast. We found there was a small supermarket open in Mission Beach for limited supplies so headed there and in looking for the supermarket came across the Fish Bar. Despite its popularity, they were able... More

We walked of the street relatively early without a reservation.. I'm glad that we were there early. Shortly after our arrival people came pouring in. It was difficult to get a seat. We did not see a wine menu, but they brought us a very decent bottle of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The menu was interesting. We settled for the fish... More

Fish Bar was a fun and friendly place to meet up with friends or just meet some other travellers or locals. Happy Hour was cheap and fun times, they also provide some munchies. Service was great and the food not that expensive but is good pub grub, drink prices very reasonable.

The meals were tasty, fresh and well presented. Pricing and value for money was excellent, easily able to feed a family of five for under $100.00, which is a rarity when on holidays. The service was also very good.

We arrived at the Fish Bar and it was packed. The waitress was a little flustered but offered us a seat at the bar, and admitted it would be a long wait. The food took half an hour and it was really excellent- good amount of salad, home made chips, and really good fish. They might have been struggling to... More

this place was one of 2 open when we stayed. Very average but the service was ok. Because it's one of 2 places open you basically had little choice and they were double booking. Would of preferred more options but meals were passable.

This is obviously a popular place and was the only place that was packed each night when we were there. The menu is simple and everything comes with chips and salad. The wine selection is basically red or white with a choice of sav blanc or chardonnay and one red. No spark.ling wine at all. Service was efficient, my old... More

Best things first..... this ‘restaurant’ was the only one offering a full lunch. OK that’s where the accolades stop. The menu was offering trans fats in various forms, disguised and obvious, so we opted instead for the seafood chowder with corn and bacon. That seemed a reasonable choice. We opted for a wine, seemed strange that there was no wine... More

We went here on the 26th of June for lunch, since it was the only place still serving lunch at around 3 pm. We had some cheesy garlic bread, which was nice. Very greasy, but tasty. We then both had the fish'n'chips. The fish had way too much batter and the tartare sauce was definitely not home made. Chips were... More

We stumbled upon the Fish Bar our first night in Mission Beach. We ordered the barramundi and were not disappointed. The place was very busy and we were still waited on promptly and got our dinners right away. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next night.
