The food was good when it eventually arrived, it just took almost an hour. Not sure if this was just bad luck or a common problem, but annoying all the same.

Ate here one evening while in Mission Beach and had quite an enjoyable night. While the food was nothing to rave about, the restaurant had a good vibe going on and the staff were well trained and attentive. My only gripe was that the house wine was a bit average - which at just $5 a glass I suppose is... More

Traditional prawn cocktail with brown bread the menu said....Well, the prawns were hot, yes you heard right, they were hot and cooked in a huge amount of garlic. The brown bread was actually rye bread, which made this dish absolutely disgusting, and WRONG. The service was slow, miserable and disorganised. Main meal was ok, beautiful fish but it was sitting... Went for an early dinner on a Sunday night. Food was good........when it eventually came out, well over a hour after we ordered. In the end I had to ask where our meal was. The waitress was really professional, chasing up our order, and comping us a couple of drinks. To the manager, Either put on more kitchen staff, or... More

the Fish Bar seems to be very popular with the locals at happy hour. The food is good and if you don't eat seafood like myself then there are other options like chicken parma. its a cheap option if you are feeding the whole family as my almost teenage kids eat like animals.

We arrived at South Mission Beach on a Sunday afternoon, to find the local supermarket closed for the day and therefore nothing for dinner or breakfast. We found there was a small supermarket open in Mission Beach for limited supplies so headed there and in looking for the supermarket came across the Fish Bar. Despite its popularity, they were able... More

We walked of the street relatively early without a reservation.. I'm glad that we were there early. Shortly after our arrival people came pouring in. It was difficult to get a seat. We did not see a wine menu, but they brought us a very decent bottle of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The menu was interesting. We settled for the fish... More

Fish Bar was a fun and friendly place to meet up with friends or just meet some other travellers or locals. Happy Hour was cheap and fun times, they also provide some munchies. Service was great and the food not that expensive but is good pub grub, drink prices very reasonable.

The meals were tasty, fresh and well presented. Pricing and value for money was excellent, easily able to feed a family of five for under $100.00, which is a rarity when on holidays. The service was also very good.

We arrived at the Fish Bar and it was packed. The waitress was a little flustered but offered us a seat at the bar, and admitted it would be a long wait. The food took half an hour and it was really excellent- good amount of salad, home made chips, and really good fish. They might have been struggling to... More
