Ordered 2 lunch specials, both we're excellent, found the service also was good and the food came out promptly. Made our day in mission beach great. We hadn't booked so glad we got a table.

Very nice place tot have dinner. It's nice decorated, it looks clean and the staff is very friendly. Although they worked with two people to serve, it was very quick. They have a small card, but okee. We chose the Italian food: pizza and pasta en it was really good food. The coffee great, it taste as the real Italian... More

We went to the Sandbar tonight for an impromptu dinner. We didn't book but I think it would be advisable. The waitress Kelly, was fantastic as was David. My wife forgot her reading glasses and we were sharing mine, when David came out and offered his reading glasses to help. Great communications between all those staff concerned. We had a few wines,... More

Although we enjoyed our pizza on the night and service was good I was shocked with the attitude of the Manager who confronted two potential Asian customers and their children who asked if they could dine in the restaurant and were rudely informed that the restaurant was booked out notwithstanding that there were many empty tables and it was only... Dropped into The Sand Bar early Saturday night, no booking but we were seated pleasantly without fuss. A relaxed atmosphere matched the food well, pizza, pasta etc which was well presented , tasty and reasonably priced. The service was above average and all wait staff were helpful, friendly and attentive, just what you would hope for really. Overall a good... More

The wine list here is, for north Queensland, pretty decent, although concomitantly pricey. The pizzas were well done, as were the sharing plates. Sitting on the deck was not the best view in Mission Beach (a suburban road running past the village green), but it was the restaurant closest to the beach in this part of town.

Looking around Mission Beach, the Sandbar had the best position with side views to the sea and was also the classiest looking whilst remaining casual. We ate here on two occasions. I found the service friendly and competent particularly compared to other restaurants in the area. The food, a predominantly tapas and pizza menu, was tasty enough without being outstanding.... More
