We dined at the Sandbar on the evening of 28 December and the restaurant certainly surpassed our expectations. Service was average, but it had great atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend the duck, pork belly and sweet and sour pork.

Beautiful food with reasonable prices. Grab a few plates to share and enjoy some amazing dishes. Went there twice over the course of our stay. Also offers a decent selection of imported beers

Sweet and sour pork had real pineapple, the tiger beef was excellent as were the spriners - although the shopping sauce lacked chilli for our tastes. Hero dish was the beans. In the middle of the Mission Beach village. Unusual not run of the mill Asian food. Not quite Chinese or Thai though quite popular with people.

Yep, no problems here at all. Food excellent, varied, on time and extremely tasty. The restaurant is now in new hands and certainly brings to the area a needed high end venue. Soft lighting and friendly service compliments a great effort.

Lovely atmosphere sitting outside on the deck/verandah on a balmy November evening. Service was fast and friendly, drinks were cold, food was hot. Great menu with lots of healthy options which suited us well. Local fish (we had the mackerel with delicious green pawpaw salad), Asian style dishes and a few general ones like salt and pepper squid (done very... More

The Sand Bar presents delightful modern Asian food in a comfortable Tropical setting. Varied offerings (could add a couple more for vegetarians who are prevalent in the area) and a good wine list including several internationals. The service is very good and if you stay in Mission Beach or nearby you really should put The Sand Bar on your menu.... More
