Some of the most popular dishes on the menu are Mozambique Chicken with Jollof Rice, the melt in your mouth Moroccan Lamb Tagine, the hot and spicy West Indies Goat Curry. All of the dishes are lovingly prepared by Ghanaian Chef and Owner, Simone Butler, with many involving very lengthy traditional preparation and slow cooking to perfection, often over 3 days. In addition to Simone's traditional ethnic dishes, there is also available fantastic 30 mm thick 350 gram plus grass fed, well marbelled steaks or fresh grilled barramundi. Key Restaurant Maleny is fully licensed with a cocktail bar, an interesting wine cellar with lots of variety to match the sometimes spicy and fragrant dishes. Excellent organic coffee, delicious cakes and deserts are a feature. Enjoy dining by the log fire or alfresco dining on the spacious veranda with panoramic views to the Coast, Mount Coolum, the hinterland and the Glasshouse Mountains. We booked in for Sunday lunch and were shown to a warm sunny table on the deck overlooking the surrounding countryside. The waitress was very knowledgeable and happily explained all menu items and specials. This was very helpful as the African cuisine would not be familiar with many people. Many of the dishes were very hot and spicy and came... More

We had a lovely experience with Key Restaurant. Wait staff very polite and the food was delicious. Gorgeous views from our table on the balcony. We took our mums there and they were really impressed. Highly recommend this lovely establishment.

We thought we were going to have a different dining experience, as we were taken by the large sign "Tastes of Africa". The staff member who served us was very knowledgeable about the food preparation techniques and spices used, however, the food did not live up to the hype. In fact, both our dishes (sweet potato & bean casserole, and... More

Superb service. Very accommodating staff who were happy for us to bring in our well behaved four legged friends. Comprehensive menu and with food that was full of flavour and not something you would get elsewhere! we particularly recommend the coconut and lime creme brulee and the goat curry ( watchout its hot!!). A special thank you to Simone for... More

Food selection in the buffet was fantastic with many gluten free options. Very obliging staff and a wood fire... What more could you want?

Arrived at 12 O'clock for Mothers' Day lunch...meal served at 1:30..smorgasbord and badly organised...then sweets were ordered...45 mins later they were re-ordered. Took 3 attempts to mix a Lime & Soda. (1st try was a Lemon, Lime & Bitters...2nd go was Lime slices with soda water) Service was friendly but it seemed a full house was too much to handle.... More

Wonderful food, great prices and super service. I went there on Sunday night with 7 others for our Washington Girls' Reunion. The staff made our night truly special -especially Paul and the chef who did a fabulous job in keeping us merry. Loved the wine list and the super cocktails. A truly fabulous atmosphere with an unusual menu. Well worth... More

I chose this restaurant because of its reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious. The service was so friendly and helpful I wish we were staying longer so I could eat here again. We had seafood and a salad which one of the nicest salads I've ever had. The deserts were yummy too. We enjoyed the music and... More
