The coffee and cakes (homemade) were welcome after a long drive through the National Park. The toilets were handy, as the ones at Cape Tribulation had just burnt down. The service was good, and the they were happy to share local information. This was a short pit stop, the Daintree has so much to see and do in a day.

We rarely go to the same eaterie twice in a holiday, but staying close by at the Exotic Fruit Farm, Whet proved worth it for our only two evenings in Daintree. Lovely interesting food and good wines and beers, and great service. Fab setting and not unreasonable when you consider how remote the place is. Go there!

My husband and I were....................unimpressed to say the least. We were the first ones to arrive for lunch and fourth served; given we ordered a hummus plate (for all intents and purposes) and a simple vegetarian sandwich this was odd. The food was mediocre and the portions small. There were roughly 15-18 tables and only one waitress, who also acted... More

Had the kangaroo. Best kangaroo I've had. Apple balsamic glaze was perfection. Loved the sunflower seed and accompanying food too.

We stopped here for a late lunch. We were seated quickly and service was great, no complaints. We ordered relatively quickly but probably waited just over 45 minutes for food When there weren't many customers. The food we ordered (lamb Pita and beef burger) was ok but nothing brilliant - maybe a little dry. I was surprised as this restaurant... More

Wonderful restaurant in every possible way. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with a beautiful wooden deck surrounded by rainforest trees with friendly and attentive staff. The meal was delicious and would have easily fit in in a high end city restaurant.. I had a crab starter and a kangaroo main. Both were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. This and a beer cost... More

Whet proved to be an excellent find. The menu was very good for such a remote location, even including a range of vegetarian options. The food was just as good as the menu - both tasty and tastefully prepared. The service was very friendly and personal. The venue itself was excellent, a modern aspect with a lovely covered balcony. We... More

We stayed three nights in Cape Tribulation at the Rainforest Hideaway. Upon Rob's recommendation we tried out Whet for dinner. We both enjoyed it very much and actually had dinner there three evenings in a row. You enjoy your food on a tent covered terrace overlooking the rainforest, lit by oil lamps. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is efficient... More

Staying 5mins away, so we had 2 great meals there. So nice to sit outside surrounded by the rainforest. The staff were very friendly and attentive, but the food was wow. The first night had metze starter between us ,plenty for two. Main had the best fish and chips ever, love barramundi. Second evening scallops, steak and a great pud. Just... More

Called here after a trip to Cape Tribulation and had coffee and cake. Small selection of cakes but what we had was very good and at$5.50 plus $1 to include ice cream, we all enjoyed our choices. Coffee was hot and we waited about 10 minutes but seeing as it was busy we were happy to be patient. Waitress was... More
