A modern European restaurant and bar with a German influence. Come and see us for great food, German beer on tap, relax by the fireplace or enjoy the beer garden. We also feature a great wine and cocktail list, along with a unique, German beer on tap: Radeberger. You won’t find it anywhere else in Australia on tap. Additionally, look for our selection of German schnapps, making Wunderbar one of the very few places in the region to offer this classic European specialty. Come for a finely crafted cocktail and stay for a hearty sampling of Wunderbar’s specialty foods.

An enticing venue, good menu and the meals do not disappoint. The bill is a bit of a shock, this is not a cheap meal so it is not the type of restaurant that is a regular visit. More so for a special occasion. But certainly worth a visit. Staff are friendly and laid back.

Wunderbar is my favourite restaurant on the Peninsula. The intimate atmosphere, international menu like no other is sure to satisfy any palate, an exciting kids menu with tasty sugar coated donuts, mouth watering beers and an extensive wine list...I could go on! Whether it's winter time by the fire or with a group for dinner any other season, this wonderful... More

We had dinner at the Wunderbar and loved the Bavarian atmosphere of the place. The host was really nice and helpful. The food was nice, but a little different to what I have come to expect of a German restaurant. The schnitzel was not very large and also quite thick. I had expected it to be thin and of a... More

Delicious food! I ordered the squid rings with roast potatoes. Absolutely delicious, very fresh and tasty! My friends ordered the schnitzel...also yummy! The desserts were also very good. The caramel icecream was one of the best I've tasted. Service was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere was lovely too. Only critique would be that the cost of the sides ($8... More

A nice and cosy place with a great service. The food is delicious, well cooked, fresh and original. Very larges portions, come with an empty stomach to enjoy it till the desserts which are great too! Whether it's family time, couple romantic diner or friends dinner, i recommend it :)

This little restaurant is a must visit when in Rye! It's lovely and cozy in the winter weather.. but there's also a lovely outdoor area out the back for the warm summer months too. Food is delicious! We've only ever had a few entrees to share, but it's always been so good.. especially the German bread! Wine list is very... More

We visited in May 2015. Food was great & very filling. Food had a real home cooked feeling to it which made you feel very comfortable. The Restraunt itself was very cosy. We were very happy with our experience. Donuts for dessert are a must have. So yummy !

We made a last minute booking on the drive down from Melbourne after reading the reviews. It's definitely deserves its reputation. Interesting food, not commonly served elsewhere, in a cosy atmosphere. Good beer selection and the donuts are sensational - make sure you reserve them at the start of your meal as they sold out during our meal and other... More
