The day we visited for breakfast there were only 2 staff on; one making coffee and one covering the floor. Both were run ragged but trying to do their best, although were abrupt with customers at times. The food was average, nothing to rave about, you could probably make better at home. I had the... read more

Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Sat down at a table and apparently we didn't even exist. No menus were given and we didn't even get greeted with a hello. Ended up getting our own menus from the counter. We were one of 3 couples and waited over 40 minutes for our mains. Ordered a pizza and calamari. The... More

I have been here a few times now, mainly for a coffee and fall into having some food with friends at times, although the coffee is good the food and service is often hit or miss. Had the worst watery soup I have had in a long time on the weekend. Basic potato and leek soup is not hard to... More

Cafe Koukla was the first place we saw for a late lunch in Daylesford on travelling up from Melbourne to begin a two-night stay in Hepburn Springs. I was itching to try some local wine, so on being seated I ordered a glass of the Frangos Granache/Shiraz to accompany the tasting plate we ordered to share. The wine and food... More

Won't be back..we had to ask to be served. Pizza ok...and I mean just ok. Salt and pepper calamari revolting...more like salted calamari and way over cooked. As for the warmed marinated olives with bread. .first attempt olives were stone cold...Second attempt...too hot to eat..forget about the marinade mm more like pitted olives straight out of a jar..and the bread....pizza... Open log fire! Need I say more? Service great, food great & modern industrial design. Servings were generous and the menu offered a well-thought out variety to cater for most tastes. Nice spot for brekkie, brunch, lunch and dinner I think.

Friendly staff, good service, nice food. In winter Daylesford is cold but this is a great place to get out of the cold and spend time for a rest.
