Took our daughter's French pen friend, husband and three children for lunch. It was all well-cooked and served with great cheerfulness. We sat indoors, as the weather was changeable, but the garden is extremely pretty, with lots of tables to chooose from.

Just been to the Hatch for a delicious pint (or two) of Harvey's bitter and decided on Sausages and mash. Rather more than I would usually pay for this meal but believe me worth every penny and excellent service from Mandy and her colleagues. Live in Norfolk but will definitely call in next time I'm in Forest Row. Well done.... More

We have been to the hatch a few times now, brilliant every time. Just an amazing spot on the edge of the forest. Warm welcome, Larkins beer and the very best in home cooking. Mike and Lisa

Ttucked away in the Forest and few more cars in the area outside than the attendees inside warranted. This didn’t take away from a really pleasant experience with a small but very good range of beers . Would like to get back to here sometime.

This pub has been serving the well heeled for many years, moving with the times while standing still where necessary. If you are not from the area, make the journey, combined with a walk / drive across Ashdown Forest. It is a cosy, snug country pub with outdoor seating and panoramic garden, too. Always has Harvey's of Lewes on tap... More

Had a Mothers Day lunch here and certainly no complaints about the service but at £24 a head for a small portion starter (Gravidlax) at £8 and very well presented but again by no means over generous roast beef sunday roast with yorksire pud and potatoes and a little veg at £16 was OTT for a pub. We enjoyed the... More

Wonderful ambience and excellent food! Come back every year just to have dinner. I'd recommend reserving a table in the Summer!

I was part of a of a hen night party staying locally travelling from Essex. We were originally recommended The Hatch and we couldn't of been happier. The staff were very friendly and catered for all requests. The atmosphere is very quiet, but the friendly staff made our visit. Thank you

Having moved recently to England, we discovered this little gem whilst getting familiar with our new surroundings and the beautiful Ashdown Forest. The Hatch is a cosy and authentic venue with fabulously delicious food and a warm welcoming service.

I was recommended this little gem through a friend last summer, we had to drive over 30 miles to get there but was without doubt one of the best meals I have ever had so well worth it - the drive was beautiful too :)
