This prestigious venue is located in the historic town of East Grinstead, situated on the old part of the High Street behind Middle Row, in a 16th Century Tudor Building which has been Grade II Listed in order to keep it in character with the surrounding environment. Serving the town since 1988, the brand has become well known throughout all of Sussex and much of Kent and Surrey, having built an enviable reputation for quality and service. Have been using this place for a few years on and off, never had a 'bad' meal. We went for the first time to christen the Tastecard a couple of days ago. We did not give prior warning (as per the Tastecard 'rules) but it wasn't a problem. Got a 2-4-1 deal on the starter and one main course dish.... More

We now get take away from.this lovely restaurant on a regular basis. Great food every time and great service. They also do delivery which is real bonus. Haven't eaten in for ages but it's always full when we visit to pick up a take away so is definitely a well loved place in town. Highly recommend. Meat is always tender,... More

I've been going to the Nizam on and off for years and just been back after at least 18 months away. I was pleasantly surprised as the food was faultless, almost magnificent ! Chicken was the best cooked I have ever had anywhere and the flavours super. Must be some different chefs. Only tiny mark down was that we were... More

Took an overseas couple for birthday between Christmas and New Year . His first visit to an Indian Restaurant so a little worried in view of some other reviews . However very good service and tasty food if a little more expensive than others in town .. Probably worth it for atmospheric surroundings. Fairly empty when we went so would... More

I wouldn't normally write reviews and when reading others I take them with a pitch of salt due to everyone having different standards etc, but I felt this one was valid. We booked a table for 6 for NYE, On arrival we where ignored, we sat down then had to ask for drinks, also ordered popadoms which after 30 mins... More

Have been to Nizam many times over the years and several times in the last few months and the service has been consistently poor recently. Our last meal was for 9 on a Saturday night, so we weren't expecting particularly speedy service. However, waiting an hour for poppadoms and for a waiter to take our order, then a further hour... This is an exceptional Indian restaurant. Fine and imaginative cooking and friendly service in a fantastic medieval building. But be careful...it' s often full!

We ate here , early on a Friday evening , an average curry , fairly small portions and rather expensive I thought. We finished our meal and seemed to be forgotten , asked two different Members of staff for the bill but after half an hour , couldn't wait any longer and had to go and find someone to pay.... More

I have been coming here for many years and the standard of food is always amazing. I have never had anything wrong with what I have ordered, and the atmosphere is lovely too. The menu has a good choice and the chef specials are particularly good. The manager is nearly always on the restaurant floor making sure that everyone is... More
