Booked a table for 8 people,4 were teenagers. Drinks and food delivered fairly promptly. Was disappointed by the customers on the next table, 2 middle aged "gents" who ought to have known better, loudly discussing the weekends football results, liberally peppering their speech with swearing. I do realise this isn't the restaurants fault-however it did detract from our meal. What... More

I have visited Nizam twice now, and I am already looking forward to going back. The service in Nizam is great. The staff are very welcoming, happy to assist, friendly and enjoy a joke. This is much nicer than some local restaurants where the staff come across as very serious. The food at Nizam is simply amazing. The first time... More

This used to be a great place to go to eat - but the service has gone down hill and so has the food. The waiters are keen to talk about their lives, their families, etc, but when it comes to getting the food or wine right they have no idea what's going on. Once upon a time this was... More

Had a bad experience in the Surma this evening so went over to the Nizam and they were great, the service was first rate and the food was wonderful. Thanks and we will definitely use you again not just for takeaways but to dine in. Thanks again

My partner and I have been here a few times (in 2014) and each time the food has been absolutely faultless. One of the best Indian meals I've had. I'm therefore surprised to read some of the reviews here (maybe theyre old/from a previous restaurant setup etc?). I've order starter, mains, sides and desert and have been happy with everything... Shame as this used to be our favourite Indian restaurant as the food quality was second to none , on our last visit the chicken and lamb were so dry and tough that it was inedible .

Indian Restaurants in East Grinstead have dreadful hygiene ratings. Nizam has a rating of Two which is the highest. We cannot understand why the other Indian restaurants are allowed to stay open when they have Zero ratings ? We eat at Nizam as the food is good the staff are friendly and the service is great. We have no other... More

In East Grinstead the High Street contains one of the longest continuous runs of 14th-century timber-framed buildings in England, one of these buildings houses what is, for me, one of the finest Indian restaurants i have ever been to. I don't know whether it is the unique combination of such an historic building, coupled with superb cooking, or the friendly... More

I have visited this restaurant many times over the years and it has unfortunately gone downhill. We have received wrong orders twice out of three visits over the last year and the staff are not very welcoming and friendly. Hopefully it will get better as this used to be a great local restaurant.
