Fantastic food in small village pub

Visited on a Saturday night, small pub/restaurant but was busy so we had to wait a while in the bar for our table to be ready. Limited menu but we were fine with that as we would prefer an establishment to do a few dishes really well than try to do a wide variety but just ok. Food was... read more

We went on a Wednesday night and I was surprised how many other people were dining which is always a good sign. The staff were wonderful, polite, attentive and knowledgeable about the food. I couldn't fault any of the food, the servings were generous and I would definitely return.

Service friendly. Food mediocre at best. Nothing to write home about and wouldn't go back. Spelling terrible on the menu.

We booked a table for 4.30pm on Sunday and there were 6 of us. It took a little while to get seated but then there had been a big group in earlier in the day. Our food order was taken in the bar and soon after we were seated in the restaurant. The waiting staff were very attentive and very... More

We visited The Plough on a lunchtime, whilst staying in the area. Fabulous food. The sea bass and mussels were amazing. Incredible value for such quality food. The meal took 45 mins to arrive, but was freshly cooked and well worth the wait. Lovely friendly service. Look forward to a return visit sometime.

This is our first visit since it re-opened, the décor was nice and bright, no sticky tables and very helpful staff. We had sea bream and mussels with a cider and cream sauce, brilliant. Also the gammon is recommended with cheese, apple and pineapple topping, the gammon was all of 30mm thick, oval and no fat or rind. Cooked fresh... More

Visited for dinner with a friend and despite the menu being small in comparison to other places, we both struggled to choose what to eat. We eventually chose the Pad Thai and Haddock - both were hot, well presented and delicious. The service was just the right balance of efficient yet friendly. I have already recommended others to try it.... More

Not visited this pub for a few years, but reading the recent reviews thought it time to come back and try one of our locals. Totally transformed from our last visit (4/5 years ago), with some lovely decor and a very comfortable environment both in the bar and restaurant. ALL of the food looked great and taste wise did not... More

Chose this pub because it was almost equidistant between 3 family groups getting together for a birthday celebration. We had Sunday lunch, a good choice of roasts as well as plenty of other tempting food. The service was very friendly and the quality of the food excellent. We shall definately return.
