Great Food, not your usual pub fare!

Very good food in a comfortable restaurant. Off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Agree with comments about staff friendly but professional. Pub if you just want a beer or other libation.

Stayed in the village at friends to look after their dogs.First visit to Maunby, decided to dine at the Buck Inn.We reserved a table for the evening. What a brilliant experience,we were greeted by very friendly staff shown to a table by the log fire for drinks prior to our meal. The food was served by delightful helpful staff,so friendly but... This pub/restaurant may be off the beaten track and definitely lacks kerb appeal but do not let this put you off. We had Sunday lunch here and it was outstanding and well worth the trek. The food was of a very high standard and each dish exceptionally tasty - which these days is a rarity! Great value, great service -... More

We met with some good friends for a nice evening meal and we were certainly not disappointed. All of our various choices were cooked to perfection and the portions were such that they just allowed us enough room to enjoy a dessert. Had this not been so we would not have been able to enjoy the best treacle tart I... More

Friend booked this for a few of us to meet up for lunch. We chose off the special menu. £14.95 for 2 courses or £17.95 for 3 courses. The food was well presented and cooked. The chips are wonderful!!! Roaring fires in bar and restaurant fresh flowers on tables. Friendly staff. They also do special deals on steaks and wine... More

Felt the menu did not have enough choice and was slightly expensive. 5 of us dined and I have to say the meat and fish we ordered was cooked to perfection. However we were given one individual soup bowl which apparently contained all the veg and potatoes for 5 people but we're told we could ask for more. The bowl... More

This is well worth a detour. The food was excellent, service attentive and friendly, and the dining room extremely pleasant. Every effort had been made to ensure that this was an enjoyable experience. Nicely decorated tables, nothing over the top, just welcoming and well thought out. The cooking was very good and house wine well chosen. I would definitely come... More

Visited The Buck Inn for Valentines Day meal, a set menu with canapés and chocolates. Every course was absolutely devine, and we both agreed it was the best meal we had had in some time. The balance of flavours, presentation and special twists, made it an absolute delight from start to finish. Staff were attentive and friendly. This is a... More

Today (15- Feb- 15) we had Sunday Lunch at the Buck Inn. The food was really special. I had the cheese souffle- it was absolutely delicious. so light and fluffy, and the veg was spot on. Husband had Roast Pork, he thought everything on his plate was beautifully cooked. We followed up with Apple Crumble made with Granola topping, yummy.... More
