The restaurant in the conversatory was very pleasant, the staff were attentive and polite. The food was fairly bland but it might suit people who like their food quite plain.

Had our 30th anniversary meal here on Monday. Has a fantastic view out over the marshes and the setting sun. Good choice of starters and mains. Excellent desserts especially the liquorice macaroons. Good if slightly chaotic service, I think we had had 6 different people serve us during the evening, but they were all friendly and polite. If you want... More

We went to the White Horse as it had been recommended to me and I wanted somewhere nice for our wedding anniversary. The food was good, there was no problem with that but the complete lack of character in the pub was disappointing. On line it said that the seating in the conservatory overlooking the marsh and sea was on... More

It was my friend's birthday and I had pre-ordered a bottle of something nice on the phone prior to us arriving....the presentation was wonderful and we had a very relaxed time in the bar before moving to the restaurant. We were not rushed or pressured into going to our table and Tom Pickard looked after us brilliantly! The view is... More

One of those glorious early spring Sundays called for a run to the coast with the White Lion being so close to Brancaster beach seeming a sound choice for a first visit. Booked two days earlier in anticipation of a good weekend weather wise but still only had a table towards the back of the light and airy restaurant (apparently... More

We arrived early for our booked lunch. Staff were friendly and helpful showing us to our table early. The view from our table was delightful. Service was attentive, choice of menu was great. We had a lovely three course meal which included oysters, pigeon, hake and cod. My chocolate dessert was to die for. Whenever we are in Norfolk we... More

It's about 5 years since we last ate at The White Horse and after our recent lunch I wonder why we don't come here more often. It offers a good, appealing menu although I'm afraid we had our hearts set on fish and chips before arrival and were not to have our minds changed by any of the more imaginative... More

As we arrived in Brancaster rather late for lunch our first choice pub had finished serving food. but thankfully the White Horse provides food throughout the day. We ate in the bar, our oysters and a superfood salad were excellent and arrived quickly.

We stopped here for a coffee whilst walking to Burnham Overy. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff polite and helpful. However we waited about 20 minutes for a 2 cups of coffee, not sure what took them so long because there didn't appear to be that many people in the bar. There is plenty of seating inside and...
