Superb meal!

We returned to Harpurs after enjoying an excellent meal to celebrate our engagement 2 years ago and were not disappointed. The food was beautiful, we had the burger and the fish and chips, and the service was great. We will definately be coming back!

Been here for a drink a few times so thought we'd check out the restaurant for a Sunday lunch. The food was mediocre, the service was lack lustre and the tables sticky. There are better places to get a Sunday lunch. I think we'll stick to The Coopers Arms in future for food and just use Harpur's for a drink.

We are regular visitors and find it exceptional value for money. The atmosphere I find always relaxing and homely, even when it's busy. We take a seat, tuck the dogs under the table and relax after a walk, the food is very good value for money, it's a firm favourite competitive in every way, immaculately clean too including the loos.... Took my girlfriend out for a meal on 'Pizza Night' and both the service and the food were impeccable. The waiting on stylings made both me and my respective other feel very welcome.

Stopped off at Harpur's for a bite to eat, never been before. Very pleasant, good service and friendly staff. We ordered a meal which was a little on the expensive side for what it was, however it was hot and tasty. Staff and chef were able to cater for all dietary requirements and suggested alternatives. Place was very popular yet... More

since our previous visit, the menu has been freshened up with some new dishes whilst retaining the old favourites. Well done. As before great service and value for money. They also now have a sister pub in Repton called the Boot which we will try soon. Recommended.

Although I eat at Harpurs on other occasions, Mothering Sunday has become a very pleasant ritual with my family. Although the restaurant was very busy and the staff were rushed off their feet, we all enjoyed an excellent meal. Great atmosphere, fabulouse food and helpful efficient service. Harpurs Sunday lunch mouth watering any time of the year.

Visited with friends for a mid week meal and was amazed by the quality of the food and service, especially considering the prices are only a little above average for the area. Interior of the pub / restaurant is very nice, there is a good selection of wine and ales but the food is the stand out. If you are... More

The menu looked nice although vegetarians that didn't want fish curry would struggle. The presentation of all the dishes was good. However, flavour was generally bland. We also had to wait that bit too long for our vegetables to arrive ( no it wasn't criwedef so no obvious reason for the big time lag) the portion size and presentation of... More

We treated my parents to a meal At Harpurs knowing it was a safe bet for good food. Well we were wrong about the food because it was superb. Our whole party all agreed there food was delicious. From the goats cheese and beetroot and the terrine fritter the starter view is away. The mains again were top quality food.... More
