Great food!

6 of us came here for a birthday meal. Afew of us had never been before and a couple had been but along time ago! On arrival we were seated in the bar and offered drinks, then got our orders taken. When we were seated at the table the courses came out with just the right amount of time between... read more

Visited the cottage restaurant on Friday 31 July with my sister-in-law and friend and were 'gobsmacked' for want of a better word about the beauty of this quaint and delightful cottage restaurant. It was like walking back in time yes but isn't that something a lot of us would love to do? We thoroughly enjoyed our meal in very pleasant... More

Flashback to the early 70s. Mateus rose and Liebfraumilch complements the part silver service of cauliflower cheese. Cappuccino, prosecco and English goats cheese filo wraps have yet to be invented here. It's clean and roomy for a large party. A location agent's dream

We had good memories of this place from 8 or 9 years ago but were massively disappointed. The bar area is unchanged from those years ago and probably many years before looking at the fixtures and fittings. The restaurant may have been redecorated more recently but as one of our group remarked, it dull, dingy and the yellow walls "look... More

If you fancy a trip down memory lane - this is the place for you. Décor and menu straight out of the 70's - not good and over priced.

I've never had an experience other than excellent here. There is a good choice of dishes for Sunday lunch including specials. The best vegetable soup I have ever tasted and lamb shank falls off the bone on its own it is that tender. Very reasonable prices for food, drinks everything. Service always superb, what lovely owners and their family they... More

Stayed at Yew Lodge for two nights. Enjoyed the food on the first evening but wanted to try somewhere different and saw this on tripadvisor. Read the reviews of bad smells and poor management but it really isn't that bad. Were sat in the bar for about 10/15min before going to the restaurant and didn't mind at all. Great value... More

On a business trip in Kegworth, this little gem was recommended by the B&B. Set in a listed building that was the butcher at the turn of the last century, this eating establishment is a gem. A delightful selection of traditional English Restaurant Fare (not pub fare) the duck was done to perfection. Not overdone, with fresh vegetables - a... More

Okay, the ambiance may be a little outdated for some but for us, it adds to the charm. First came here 30 years ago and the menu never changed which is great for us. Set 4course menu is amazing for £19.99 and the extra for the t-bone was amazing given it covered my entire plate ! Staff were lovely, although... More
