The food here is always so fresh and different, the salmon and prawn salad is delicious, always a home made soup and divine cakes, great coffee too. The staff are lovely and friendly and there's an Aladdin's cave of a shop and deli. Perfect for a lunch stop, and the biggest bird table overlooking the river, spotting bullfinches, tits, robins... Although I have driven past many times I had never visited the Riverside until this summer when a friend recommended the cafe to me. I cannot believe I have never visited before! There is a marvelous gift shop area with so many beautiful items that are perfect for all sorts of gifts, particularly a lovely selection of biscuits and tins... More

I have visited this cafe many times and I travel over from Aston on j31 on the M1 so it's a good distance but I consider it's worth the effort, just been reading some the revues some folk posted one stating had to pay extra for extra bread with his soup, and also for hot water? These guys are running... More

This is a café run by a local family. The food is pretty good and nicely laid out. The view of the birds is fantastic. we saw kingfishers and a whole host of other finches. Sorry not a birder! The coffee is fine but not very strong. The Americano needs to be improved. BUT made a very nice day out.... More

We recently visited this café instead of one in Hope as we were told it was very good. We arrived and went into a long shed-like building, spoke to a lady behind a counter and she directed us to the café. We went in and sat at a table, noticing that there were several elderly couples sitting at tables looking... More

The Riverside Herb Centre is an amazing place to unwind and relax. It has a great atmosphere with friendly staff. The food has never failed to impress me every time I've visited, and the sticky toffee pudding is to die for! The scenery from the large viewing window of the café is amazing with the unique bird feeders attracting many... More

I ordered a Ploughman;s lunch. It wasn't cheap, but I got what I paid for - a substantial meal with different cheeses, plenty of ham and a good, fresh salad. I was with two ladies and we all enjoyed our meal. The birds at the feeders outside the window was a nice touch. I went there on a recommendation -... More

I've enjoyed visiting this cafe in the past, but was disapoointed this time. It took ages to get served, as I had to wait for the person behind the counter to finish her chat with a friend (3 other members of staff seemed to have other things to do). The tea was good and, as ever, watching the birds was... More

This fascinating roadside café/delicatessen provides top quality items and delicious food. Definitely not fast-food but worth waiting for and the shop is a good way of spending some time and tempting oneself to some rather nice goodies! Do try the fish soup if it's on when you call but make sure you have plenty of room to finish it....a wonderful... More
