A mixed bag

We stopped here for a coffee after visiting Ladybower. Lovely spot to watch the birds outside the window while enjoying our drinks. Cakes looked delicious but we did not indulge. The plants outside needed some tlc - a very mixed bag indeed. The shop had some quirky items but many were well over... read more

I have to agree with lizzie325 we had tried to give this place a try, as several friends had recommended, but the couple of times we went we were also told quite abruptly that they were full!! My OH swore he would never try the place again. However, he relented one afternoon in November when the car park didn't look... More

One of our favourite coffee spots. Small interesting shop of unusual and local foods attached to a snug little café. As you sit and drink your coffee, or perhaps sip your soup, there is the pleasant distraction of many small birds feeding just outside the windows.

A small herb garden centre, but very worth a visit for the cafe experience. Drink and food at a reasonable rate but with the best view for bird watchers, bird tables right up against the windows, so you can watch whilst you eat - a lovely entertaining experience - with handy bird books on your tables if you want to... Popped in for lunch with a good friend. I warned her that they probably wouldn't have much choice...and I'm pleased to say that I was wrong! There was a wonderful varied menu, amazing looking cakes and a wide range of hot drinks. Both our lunches were beautiful - very well presented and very tasty! Will definitely visit again!

Really lovely food, served by friendly staff, great place to bring kids as there is a huge bird table that runs alongside the cafe constantly visited by a range of wildlife including squirrels. Would recommend calling in for lunch and a shop for life's little treats from the lovely shop. Really delicious home cooked food. Highly recommended

In my hurry to point out two nuthatches outside the window I knocked my coffee over, the waiter couldn't have been more helpful, mopped up the mess and replaced it free of charge, and did so with a smile, made me feel much less embarrassed. In the past I have had soup there, always very good.

totally disagree with last review . went yesterday again - ok it was not peak time which may have made a difference and had a lovely quiche - the salad was not just a piece of lettuce - the place had appeal for an elderly dementia lady and a schoolboy - well worth the drive out in our lovely area.

another new place I've found this summer, the staff were wonderful, chatty, helpful, served us promptly. we got a window seat and watched the birds very relaxing, we then spent some time in the shop picking up some goodies. The weather was awful when we arrived but by the time we left the sun had come out. We had wonderful... More

Tried several times to give this place a try. There are lovely tables set inside but by the river where you are able to watch the local flora and forna. First time we visited we were told that we were unable to order as they were too busy to serve us, although several tables were free, the second and the... More
