Why is this down as a restaurant? It's a cracking pub, plenty of good ales and lagers, with a friendly and knowledgeable landlord. Best in Glossop by a mile.

As one of my "locals" The Star is & always has been, a traditional Pub. To Re- iterate previous reviews, it just sells traditional "real ales" in a friendly atmosphere. There aren't many real pubs left in the Glossop area & this is one of the best.

Great real ale and a friendly atmosphere. Probably the best pub in Glossop. They don't do food though.

Don't know how this fab little real ale pub is in your restaurant gude but it doe NO food other than bar snacks (crisps/nuts/sweets) They do fab real ales & guest beers with beer/cider festivals with friendly and efficient staff. All staff and locals will be perhaps amused at this little blip in categorisation but may disappoint any travellers looking... More

Old fashioned traditional pub situated at the side of the rail station, good beers at reasonable prices but somewhat limited opening hours.

Quite simply, in my opinion, the best ale anywhere in the area. Great choice from small UK breweries, and always a good selection (including some light hoppy ones which are fantastic!) A great pub with a good atmosphere, known in the area for its well kept and varied beer.

Excellent pub and excellent quality real ales, best pub on that side of the snake pass, I always make a point of calling in when I'm over that way.

Absolutely super traditional pub next to Glossop railway station. A good range of beers, both draught and bottled. And a warm welcome.

Cheerful friendly service, excellent ale and reasonably priced. Only down side was no beer garden, just a couple of benches on the pavement.
