Great batter and proper home cut chips

A bit out of the way but definitely worth seeking out. It's essentially a takeaway with a few seats indoors and a few outdoors. Spotlessly clean and very polite helpful staff. I thought it was very reasonably priced too. We paid £15.90 for two small battered sausages and chips, one large battered... read more

Very expensive for small portions, we asked for extra mushy peas to go with the fish as my girlfriend wasn't having chips, the girl put one more scoop of mushy peas on and charged an extra 80p. Found a few bones in the fish which was a shame and the salt n vinegar wasn't proper chip shop salt and vinegar.... More

Well we have given this chip shop a rave revue in the past, but we took an old friend from Rotherham there today and the quality and service are second to none, if you enjoy traditional fish and chips without the frills this is a must, we travel 20 miles for the pleasure and to be honest we would travel... The tastiest fish and chips I.'ve tasted in a long time was really nice ,the fish was cooked to perfection and not to much batter and the chips were crispy but soft and succulent inside ,would definitely go again when we go

not the cheapest fish and chips you'll ever buy but then just look at the location. you can eat in or take away ,the outlet is spotlessly clean. the safe always friendly and the fish and chips rival any your likely to find anywhere else

my wife and I have attended the Garland parade twice now and always stop and get fish and chips from here ,the food is always piping hot ,tasty and plentiful, the prices are reasonable. The only down side to this lovely village chippy is the opening hours ,you never can tell when it will be open before hand .

Quick service. Great fish and chips. Lovely mushy peas. Difficult to find though but found it via tourist information centre.

There are better fish and chip shops in the area however it's the only one in castleton. Chips are a bit soggy and the fish cakes are thin and over cooked

This chippy isn't open all the time and sometimes when you need a snack it isn't available, but when it is, it's ok, you can sit down outside to eat your chips, but best to walk round and love this gorgeous village.
