Tea rooms very run down. Dirty with no toilet facilities. We decided not to eat as the place as it was so disgusting. Intimidating man, who looked dirty, became nasty on us trying to leave!

We too went here, we're told that we could not have coffee on its own so we ordered the proffered scones, and they were delicious.... Lovely circus models moving to keep the kids entertained, owner telling us stories of when mark Benton and robson green were filming local and eating there, was a strange bloke admittedly, but not rude just... Stay well away from this place, the owner doesn't deserve any business what so ever, we went in and asked for a drink of tea and a glass of coke, he was very abrupt with an attitude as he said "we only do tea and scone and not tea on its own" I replied well I only want a drink... More

We were a party of 4, not such regular visitors to Castleton these days, but we do visit the area at least 4 or 5 times a year, sometimes more. I've spent a lot of hours in Castleton and being a 'centre' for the area I've found most of the cafes, Pubs and shops to be some of the best,... More

We had a lovely day out around Castleton on Bank Holiday Monday and enjoyed a stroll around the back lanes. I spotted this tea room from a distance and thought ooh a lovely little cafe, let's stop, but as we got closer I realised that the cafe actually looked very scruffy and run down. There were a number of outside... More

Been quite a few times to the Hidden Tea Room, owner is a one of a kind and can be misinterpreted as rude if you yourself do not have a sense of humour. I went there with my 3 year old Nephew and he was in awe at the model circus and also the swords the owner allowed him to... More

Had a tea for two and four scones. Was very good value and the homemade jam was delicious. My wife and puppy were very content. Will return again.

I went into this father jacks tearoom to ask a simple question, is the speedwell cavern car park ticket valid in the peak cavern car park? He laughed and shouted NO. So I asked if he could change a 10 pound note? He laughed and Shouted DOES MY RESTAURANT LOOK LIKE A BANK? So I laughed and said restaurant, now... More

How I wished I'd read the reviews before we stumbled across this hidden"TEAROOM" I cannot believe how rude and obnoxious this man is...I totally agree with all the other reviews for such a beautiful place like Castleton to have a horrendous place like this is unreal, It really is like a comedy sketch show. Appalling coffee,Appalling hot chocolate and a... More
