I was amazed at the food, the chef was wonderful but I noticed that a certain man was obviously discriminating against the lovely woman who was at the bar, she was kind, chatty and quick to serve, she was brilliant, I do not understand why she was getting that kind of treatment.

We called at the Nags Head Castle Donnington on Sunday looking for the former landlord of the Falcon Inn Long Whaton. We found him and even though they had finished serving food Jed produced a plate of beef sandwiches with roast potatoes and salad, which were superb. He has only been open a month but has completely redesigned the place... More

If you are fed up with 2-4-1 deals the same old menus, food churned out in mass and noisy children's play areas however, If you want a warm welcome from the owner, polite staff, great fresh cooked food served with passion, great furnishings and a super cool outdoor area then you need to visit The Nags. This place is now... More

We often have trouble finding good vegetarian food in pubs and by a happy chance called in at the Nags Head. We ordered vegetarian wraps with salad. The food came very promptly and the wraps were absolutely delicious. The salad was good, too. The staff were friendly and efficient, the surroundings were pleasant. We will be back for more!

We visited here on the way from the airport. We wanted some good food quickly. The welcome was warm and familial. We chose from the pre theatre menu. It seemed a little uninspired in places (eg veggie burger, which I chose with not much enthusiasm), a bit unseasonal (bangers and mash as one of three options in high summer seemed... More

Thank you very much for the helpful comments made in your review. We are grateful for the feedback! Our Sunset Menu is designed to be a good value early evening option, and portion sizes are the same as any other offering on our menus. We do take your point about the child portion, however, and are sorry that you did... More

Great to have you back in the village Jad and congratulations on what you're doing at the Nag's Head. We sat outside in the sunshine on the decked area, surrounded by pots of flowers, choosing our meal whilst having a pre dinner drink. The food is really delicious, freshly cooked and beautifully presented. Our party had starters followed by lamb,... More

Having been closed for too long the Nag's Head is back and better than ever. There is a new fresh look to the surroundings a menu with something for everybody and first class service. The mutton dish which is unusual on a menu was excellent as was all the other food. It is also very good value. Welcome back.

Went to the nags head for a drink and lunch. Lovely friendly welcome and the food is delicious. Had the flatbread. Patio filled with lovely baskets and plenty of shade with umbrellas. We had our dogs with us and they were made to feel welcome too. Dogs allowed in the bar area and outside. We will definitely be returning.

Attention to detail is what makes a night out at the Nags Head so memorable. A warm welcome, unique ambience, lovely atmosphere, friendly and attentive service (lots of smiles) and the food is absolutely fantastic. We had the mezza on Saturday night and it was amazing. I would recommend the Nags Head to anybody looking for a genuine fine-dining experience.... More
