I have been here s few times, always been a good experience. Nice location, friendly staff, well made good value food. Nice fresh ingredients. I have never tried the terrace/garden at the rear; but looks nice. Dog friendly: seems to have a 'doggy parking' area in the separate lobby. Very handy for the 'Ritz' cinema pre performances: perfect. Would recommend.... More

Went to Belper for the day and this was the first cafe we came to. Plenty of occupied tables means a good cafe. This was true here. Great ambience. Staff very friendly and polite. Food was great value for money and the drinks were hot. If we are in Belper again, we will be at Fresh Ground again.

Looking for somewhere to eat for lunch we were directed to Fresh Ground by a local shopkeeper. It is clean and welcoming. Food was prepared to order and we enjoyed our drinks of leaf tea and herbal tea whilst we waited. We both chose the brie and bacon flan with salad and were very pleased with this. The salad leaves... Fab coffee and the moistest Victoria sponge ever. Scones and jam with fresh cream was huge and tasty. Very good value for money.

This small eatery is opposite the Ritz Cinema in Belper, at the top of King Street. We have eaten in here to celebrate birthdays, and not been disappointed. You can supplement your meal with a Belgian beer selected from an impressive list of beers of offer. Worth the trip!

Perfect for breakfast, lunch and other meals or just coffee. Small courtyard at the rear. Occasional jazz evenings and the real bonus - as they are licensed - they stay open until 10 pm. Nice atmosphere.
