Lovely pies, great salads

Having walked round the town for an hour or so, this looked the best place for a decent lunch, and, though I can't comment on the opposition, it was certainly very good - I had a great raised pie with a really good salad and what seemed to be home-made coleslaw. The staff were pleasant and... read more

We often pass through Ashbourne on our way to the Peak District but stop only occasionally - it's either close to our destination or we have only just left and it's not quite time for a break. But just before the New Year it was calling out for a coffee break and we scuttled in the rain from the Market... More

We had lunch there as a group of seven. I was very impressed by them bringing the kids' food out before the adult meals without us asking. The sandwiches we had were very tasty and good value. We'd happily return if we were in the area again.

Was in Ashbourne looking for somewhere to eat and Bramhall's looked friendly and inviting with a nice menu so thought I would give it a try. Ordered the Shepherds Pie with roasted roots and it was much better than I would have expected for £7.95, the pie itself was very nice but the roasted roots where a revelation and very... More

Visits to this Deli have always provided excellent food. Large, varied menu with a long list on specials board as well. Service is efficient although friendliness varies. The small number of tables does put pressure on the staff to keep the customers moving, so once you've finished eating you are made to feel uncomfortable with the table being swiftly cleared.... OK so could not get a large coffee so had to buy 2 at the cost of £4.20. Even the high street coffee groups would baulk at that. Then to add insult it was filter coffee and an americano that does not make. Had to then buy two eggs because the cook was incapable of scrambling 1. What are these... More

Great and popular place for a quick and thoroughly reliable lunch. Perfectly cooked salmon, delicious new potatoes (not easy these days to find potatoes with flavour) with lashings of mint and butter, great big portions of crisp and freshly made salads. Everything is homemade, including some very wicked puddings. One of the best places we have ever been for gluten... More

Well stocked shelves and a cold counter brimming with savoury delights from pork pies to cheeses from around the world greet you as you enter the shop. Everything is fresh and looks very inviting. We bought a pork pie, cheese, ham, nibbles for a picnic lunch. Service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.

I took my grand daughter here for lunch, I had been a couple of days before. Very nice soup although the plate was frighteningly hot, really good crayfish sandwich and mackerel salad, I think the salad dressing could be improved upon though. The service was very good and efficient. I will return.

Lovely place, clean, nice staff and really well presented food. One thing that lets other food establishments down is standards drop and change every visit. Bramhalls has a really good high standard that seems to be constant, will be paying many more visits!
