Great value, well served

A spacious restaurant offering a great range of value meals served by pleasant staff and accompanied by value beer and wines. Children are not just tolerated but cared for. I have eaten here on several occasions and have always enjoyed my meals.

The pub itself is ok, lovely playground for the children, good fast service and very welcoming staff. The food for me let it down, we went on a Sunday, had the salmon and it was very bland. Only a few lonely vegetables on the plate, for the price definitely not worth it. I have since been told try the two... More

This pub is beautiful. Perfect location but there is some building work going off across the road which is an eye sore. Friendly service and good pub food. It's not fresh food but well worth the money. People use TripAdvisor for the wrong reasons. So please do not be put off this pub. If you have a big appetite then... More

We were on holiday for a long weekend away in Ashbourne and ate here 2/3 nights we were there. The service was very fast and the staff were very friendly. The food was tasty and was great value for money with offers such as 2 meals for £10. There is a playground area outside for children to play in as... More

We have just returned from a stay at Ashbourne, and used this pub/restaurant for our evening meal every night. The staff were very friendly and professional, especially Sam and Phenie. The food was very good , and great value, 2 meals for £10. The rotisserie chicken was excellent. The decor and ambience of the pub and restaurant was lovely as... More

You can have great fun crossing the river here and good place for photos. The walk up the river is lovely and well maintained.

We called in here today (28.05.15) for a evening meal, the service was average but the food was appalling, example; 1/4 chicken & chips was actually 2 mouthfuls of chicken a handful of frozen chips and 1 tablespoon of coleslaw. Another example; mixed grill, tiny portion of frozen chips, 1 tablespoon of frozen peas, half of one tomato, 2 small... More

Nice atmosphere, good and varied pub style menu, very good value, and excellent service. Starving, so had a mixed grill. Very generous plateful, but nicely cooked and well presented. Didn't feel overstuffed at the end! Would thoroughly recommend if you don't mind unfussy, wholesome pub food.

Lovely place to eat whilst staying next door in the Travelodge. Was very busy for a Friday night but service was good.
