Another fabulous meal at Lighthouse

Fantastic food but was disappointed with the service, waited 15minutes for a drink , which a table of 8 that were seated near to us were brought drinks within minutes of them arriving. Food fabulous came out in perfect intervals just a shame we found a hair in my pudding!

We visited The Lighthouse for their first "British Night" which was a great success. The food was amazing - beautifully cooked and presented. Despite the restaurant being very busy everything was perfect. Don't know how they manage to consistently achieve such high standards. The staff were as always friendly & attentive. All in all a great evening - we look... More

I loved all of the courses. They were all full of flavour with some little surprises. The steak was devine, as was the scallop and cardamom custard. Loved the chocolate element of the menu too. Can't fault it and the service was great. Will definitely look at going back. The only negatives were that it was a bit difficult to... More

This was our first visit to this great Derbyshire Restraunt and it won't be our last. We went as part of a group of 8 and we all had the taster menu. The food was simply gorgeous, every dish was a taste sensation and well presented. The staff could not have been more helpful. In the group we had a... More

This was my first visit here and I have to say that the food and the wine were excellent. One of our party eats fish but no other meats but her starter was adapted from what the menu said (Scallops with duck) was adapted with no problem. I had local beans with Serrano Ham, which is the sort of thing... More

Managed to get a table at the last minute on our third visit to The Lighthouse. As ever it was fantastic. The food was interesting, tasty and beautifully thought out. The staff are fabulous and very attentive but discreet. The Chablis is one of the nicest I have ever had. A very talented team. The car park could do with... More

We drove two hours each way to dine here for lunch with some family members who were holidaying nearby and it was worth every second! We all had the taster menu and every course was amazing. Exquisite flavours and beautiful presentation. Great unobtrusive but informed service. The lunch was equal to many a Michelin starred restaurants. The restaurant is a... More

We dined on a Saturday night and therefore only the tasting menu was available. It took three hours to get through the food. That was not a good thing. The serving staff were fine it was the kitchen that could not cope. Given that the chairs are seriously uncomfortable it wasn't the best experience. The food had mixed reviews -... More

very nice food and excellent service, but my wife and I both have mobility problems, so getting up the steep gunnel, stone entrance steps and uneven floors was an issue. It's an old building, so I'm not saying anything should change, just a warning that if you have reduced mobility you may want to look elsewhere ...
