Took the family in for a late afternoon meal. My steak was nicely cooked and all the other meals were good too. The presentation was good though I think a steak should always be served with a steak knife and the wooden board as a plate is a lovely idea but if it's cracked you can't pour the sauce over... Dashed in and booked a table during a snow storm. Helpful staff and cozy atmosphere. Food was great, probably not the pies we ordered but eaten and enjoyed. Great value for money in a top class environment.

Very pleasant meal, I went with my parents, wife and 2 year old. The staff were very accommodating and the food was very good. Really nice to see proper pies being served and not a puff pastry lid in sight. I'd recommend this eatery to most people, It was a relatively quiet Saturday lunch, i'd imagine that it might feel... We had visited last year, but only for drinks. We were impressed then & promised ourselves we would pay a return visit, which we did on Saturday 3rd Jan 2015. The Venison pie was ordered with mash plus sirloin steak & chips. The steak was cooked perfectly & was of epic proportions. The accompanying chips appeared to be home-made, nice... More

Break at the Bridge after shopping in Ashbourne, good menu choice and would recommend one of the platter's, tasty, filling and great value. Restaurant is well decorated with plenty of comfortable (sofa's) seating. Staff are welcoming and friendly and even though it was busy the service was quick and efficient.

We popped in here after going to the pub next door. They weren't serving food so told us to try here. It wouldn't have been somewhere we would have chosen to walk into. The exterior and name of the place leads you to believe the food will be quite fancy (well all us 4 adults thought so!). When we went... More

On a busy weekend with 6 adults & 2 small children & 4 dogs we were expecting problems in obtaining a table but the staff were very helpful & managed to accommodate us after 30 mins or so. Some of the pies we requested had all been sold but as it was after 4pm we understood why especially once we... More

We pre booked and I would recommend you do, The Bridge was very busy, but we were very impressed how we had superb service and excellent food and massive portions. If you go to Ashbourne I would recommend a visit, but do book. One final point the Landlady although busy had time to talk to us both and was very... More
