Stopped by after a days walking with 4 friends for a bite to eat and what an excellent find this place was! Staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. There was a good selection of 2/3 local real ales, and a good "British country pub" menu to choose from. The food was home cooked and of excellent quality, offered good sized... More

We came across this pub on the last night of our stay in the area and were certainly not disappointed. Plenty of parking too which is always a bonus. Could tell the pub is popular as so many tables reserved on a Wednesday evening! We took a table in the bar area and I think all tables were filled by... More

We had booked lunch here as our half way point doing the Tissington trail, and we were starving. The bar was lovely, the food incredible - you must try the steak and onion baguette - and the service fab. We will be back!

Went to this pub on a Saturday night as a group meal and I can only say good things. Food was delicious, service excellent and on the whole a very good evening as there was the right atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to go here again for a meal and would recommend it to others. :-)

we were kept waiting one hour for our starters which was bad enough but my wife's contained a hair. She returned it and the same meal ( including the hair) was re-served after 15 mins. On complaining again she was told that 'fungi grow hair' . No apology was forthcoming and we left feeling not very impressed with either the... More

We were told this was a good pub, so we tried it, and we were not disappointed. Staff were kind, and welcoming, and we had lovely food. From 7pm onwards, it started becoming very busy, so book in advance, The bonus was that we could also take our dog.
