We were enquiring at our campsite near Hartington about the best Sunday lunch around when we were told the locals all used the Oakover arms a few miles away, so on our way home we called in on the off chance. The restaurant was busy but they had one spare table which we gladly accepted from the very friendly and... More

As the pub we were planning to visit during a day out in the Peaks had closed, we stopped off at the Okeover Arms instead. What a great find! The four of us were quickly served drinks and handed some menus and had the 'specials' board pointed out to us. My husband was well impressed with his choice of real... More

We were recommended this pub by the local YHA in Ilam. The food was plentiful, well cooked and reasonably priced. The staff were welcoming and friendly and true to he menu, there was no bother when the children wanted chips instead of mash. All in all a lovely evening had by all.

On impulse trip out to nearby pub for lunch. Never eaten there before. Decent menu. Decent service. Generous portions. Reasonable prices. Not gourmet food and not five star but certainly good value. We will return and we recommend it.

We decided to have an overnight stay here, Saturday to Sunday for our wedding anniversary. The pub is situated in a lovely hamlet, tucked away from the main road. We arrived in the afternoon and were looked after by one of the staff, and shown to our room. The room was very cosy, spotless and peaceful. Our bathroom had plenty... More

We were staying at The Okeover Arms overnight with three friends and decided to eat in. A good range of dishes and “specials”. Three of us had steaks, rump, sirloin and ribeye. Two of us had Barnsley Chops. All cooked as we wanted them. All tasty. Nice hand cut chips and good salads too. A very good choice of desserts,... More

Visited the pub on the evening of 10th July, with my wife and two children. The staff seemed friendly but we had to wait almost one hour before any of our food was brought out to us , it didn't seem to busy and what we ordered wasn't to complex. My wife had stopped me from leaving 10 minutes before... More

A lovely place that does lovely food. We stayed recently and ate out first night. Mistake there I had sausage and mash £12 and my husband had pie £16 . Whereas at the Okeover the prices were less and the food more, and far better quality. Very accommodating. Ignore the bad reviews IMO they are grossly incorrect. Yes I would... More

We called here this evening and were quickly seated and the order taken. Seats were tending to be uncomfortable, The food were ample portions and cooked well. Would call again but sadly leaving area tomorrow.
