Fish in the Midlands

This is very much a Family run establishment in pleasant countryside a few minutes drive from Ashbourne. It was well recommended and proved to be so. Today we had yet another stunning meal, the portion sizes are very generous, can never quite manage a pudding, which is a shame as they have a good selection and the ones I've seen passing the table look lovely. Once again we took the dog and without asking the young waiter bought him a bowl of water which was such... More

We fancied a carvery in the country so typed 'carvaries in Ashbourne' into Google. This was the first place to come up so thought we would give it a try. We were not let down, the place was located in beautiful surroundings, the food was exceptional and the staff really polite and helpful. I would highly recommend. We have been... More

Such a friendly welcome and amazing food all home cooked. Located in a beautiful village in the heart of the Peak District, perfect for walking, close to Dovedale and the Tissington trail.

We enjoyed a great carvery Sunday lunch. The staff are all super friendly. The choice of beers is excellent - and they are all very well kept. We were staying close by at Holiday Property Bond's Blore Hall and ended up going back to this super pub four times during our week's stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Okeover Arms for 2 nights and we had a great time and I'd really recommend it if you want to stay somewhere in that area of the Peak District. The rooms are nothing fancy but the bed was very comfy and tea/coffee was provided as well as toiletries and the shower was surprisingly... More

Food was a little slow but delicious when it arrived all home cooked food and very filling, the Eton mess was also fantastic. Love friendly welcome and would definitely return.

Our first visit following a recommendation from a friend. The menu and specials offered a good variety with an excellent range of smaller portions of 'proper' food suitable for children. The meals were delicious - clear plates all round! We had a lovely friendly welcome from the outset and we will certainly return.

We stopped here on the way back from Dovedale. The portion sizes were just right and we sat next to the fire, which was well needed! We would definitely return.
