All we wanted from a Sunday lunch excellent roast beef and lamb couldn't fault it ! Just hope they have better more comfortable seats ready for our next visit in Dec! Have no hesitation recommending this country pub as our friends enjoyed the local beers.

We went here on Saturday 20 th September after a day at Alton Towers. Two adults and two children aged 16 and 8. It's a very nice and clean pub with plenty of choice of lagers and beers. We ate here and ordered the Thai Green Curry, Chicken wrapped in bacon, the house burger and the youngster had fish fingers... More

When you organise a dinner for 23 people on a Saturday evening at a busy pub you fear the worst but the Coach were really up for it and didn't insist on a few menu selections or preordering. we had plenty of choice and all agreed it was one of the best meals we had ever had. All freshly made... More

In the five years since our last visit, the catering at this village pub has developed and now offers a wide range of dishes in the evenings. Our choices were served within ten minutes and proved to be well prepared and appetising. A good choice of draught beers were on offer and I was very happy with my choice of... More

A friend and I called in for supper. The menu is not gluten free friendly and but there were possibilities. We both had a Mushroom Stroganoff which was OK but nothing to write home about - a bit stodgy. I like fresh and flavoursome so often choose veggie even though I'm not one. I've had better. We decided to choose... More

We booked a table for 8 for University reunion, no problem with booking and table ready and waiting. Atmosphere that of traditional English pub, although not this year we do have some overseas friends at some reunions so "Traditional English" is what we usually aim for. Food excellent, choice not excessive but sufficient to cater for all tastes including the... More

Had a lovely lunch here earlier in the week. Food was nice, but a little pricey. Would call in again if we were driving past.

We ate here one evening, the food was good and priced about right. Can't say I was too impressed with the menu but that is just personal choice. They had a specials board and I went for the steak & kidney pie. That probably tells you a lot about my choice of food.

Our first stop on a drive up to the Peak District, this pub still has a traditional feel to it despite modernisation. We had two well kept pints of Dancing Duck 22 and sat next to a real wood fire that felt cosy. There is also a restaurant but we didn't stay for food.

Have used the pub and restaurant many times but this time we walked from Ashbourne Heights camp site. High standard of food with lots of fresh veg. Cosy and friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit but booking ahead is probably best as it was pretty well full on the Friday evening.
