The atmosphere and food were both very good, with friendly staff and some interesting bits and pieces offered for sale in the shop area.

Very friendly staff and reasonably priced sandwiches, snacks and cakes. God selections of drinks also. Right next to the souvenir shop.

I'm not a vegetarian but they do only vegetarian food and it is very good and has a distinctive and interesting style. The staff are usually friendly but it depends who you get as they recruit 'volunteers' who have to commit to x amount of hours per week in order to live at the 'retreat' (not really a volunteering ethos).... Smoothies nice, more of an iced crush though. Sandwiches tasted quite dry, an addition of mayonnaise/butter or an alternative depending on your taste would have been nice along with a more ample serving of the pear in the pear and stilton and onion chutney to accompany the goats cheese would have improved things. Service slow. Relaxing atmosphere.

I had a salad and sandwiches, nice big portions. I also had tea with soya milk, I had to ask for vegan cake but the staff were friendly and helpful and checked the ingredients for me. All round a nice place for lunch, nice and relaxing.

Popped in for a quick lunch with my wife. Ordered the large soup of the day which was mushroom. It was definitely a large bowl of soup, tasty and the bread was exceptional. Very, very good value for money and the little garden at the back is recommended.

I pop in here with my Dad every time I am staying with him. The welcome is warm and the atmosphere is very tranquil whilst the food and drink are of good quality.

Had been to the Buddhist Temple and Priory at Ulverston and a bit disappointed at only vegan /gluten free lunch choice there being lentil and tomato soup, so headed to Cafe in town. Lovely , relaxing and friendly staff , especially the Italian (?) Buddhist nun who was charming and warm.Enjoyed the hummus and roast veg salad , very tasty... More
