I visited the Fishermans Arms earlier today, as part of a part of 6. We all opted for roast meals, the two 9 year olds were given the option of half portions, which I think was a nice option to be given. I had lamb, which was lovely and tender, and very tasty. Accompanied by roast potatoes, a giant Yorkshire... More

We were out for dinner with 6 friends so we booked table for 8 at 6.00pm we like early dinners. Got drinks from the bar and pointed to our table. From placing our our orders to being served took 1.25 hours, totally unacceptable for a restaurant of this standard. The food was of good quality once it arrived if a... More

We had booked a table after checking first they could accommodate our gluten free diet! Which they gave us a menu highlighting what was suitable. The food was delicious and presented beautifully however the white chocolate and raspberry crème brulé was of a runny consistency which was the only disappointing part of the meal! Apart from that we had an... More

We booked a table here on a Saturday evening,it was a beautiful evening,so we expected it to be busy. No problems at all, shown to our table at the time it was booked for. I have visited a large number of Restaurants where the philosophy seems to be,put some mediocre food in a stack and charge pots of money for it.... More

We visited this restaurant for dinner on Thursday 31st July 2014 and sat outside. My fiance is on the Dukan diet and therefore wanted to have some minor amendments made to his order. His starter was a trio of salmon. He asked not to have the gravadlax and the fishcake, but for more hot smoked salmon in its place. My... More

Had lunch of duck including duck rolls. Thought the food was lovely until I found a piece of bone in one of the rolls. The rest of the meal was delicious so when the male owner collected my plate I pointed it out to him expecting an apology. He looked and muttered something like "oh it's shin bone" and walked... I have been to The Fishermans on a number of occasions since it has been refurbished and usually it is OK, however my visit for lunch on 20th July left me in no doubt that it will be the last time we dine there. We arrived and were pretty much ignored by the front of house staff who didn't even... More

I had not been to the Fishermans for some considerable time, fifteen years later we had returned after hearing some very good reports. I ordered the hot sirloin of Beef ciabatta sandwich with Stilton and Red onion Marmalade and nice fresh salad. I also chose the addition of soup of the day Tomato and Red pepper both were delicious Tender... More
